Guest guest
if one has a sensitivity to MSM taken orally woudldone have a problem using the MSM water in the OCC? thanks monique It does work for everything in the body. The thing is, DMSO is very drying, and MMS can be irritating to the skin because of the ph. Some people who have very sensitive skin get very red or itchy with the MMS, others don't have much problem. But the combo of the MMS and DMSO seems to make most people have some of both--itching and redness. The MSM stops all that. Plus, there's something in the MSM that completes the DMSO so you get that benefit too. So just because you put it on your stomach doesn't mean it would go just to your stomach. It enters the blood stream and goes everywhere. But the stomach can be sensitive skin. If you are only doing this once a day it might be fine to keep using the stomach. But--you may want to switch around It depends on each person and their sensitivity and needs. Samala,
Guest guest
Dunno. You'd have to try and see. I guess it would depend on the type of sensitivity--would it be like diarrhea or nausea like from oral MMS? Then perhaps taking it transdermally would by-pass that problem. Could it be that you are sensitive to sulfur? Samala, -------Original Message------- If one has a sensitivity to MSM taken orally woudldone have a problem using the MSM water in the OCC? This is actually a common cleansing effect from taking MSM. While it is possible that you may actually be 'allergic', it is far more likely to be detox. Have you tried taking less and slowing down? It usually doesn't last more than a few days at most.
Guest guest
Then I would not use it. No sense in making yourself worse. I don't know enough about MSM but anyone can be allergic to anything. Why do you want to take it? Do you have a reaction to DMSO? Guest guest
renee looking at andrew cutler's work i think i do not tolerate sulfur as my liver detox pathways aren't working that well so i think that is why i react to MSM. i wonder if for that reason i may also react to DMSO? haven't tried it yet. monique
Guest guest
Um, let me ask on the DMSO list as I'm not sure. I'll let you know when I find out. Guest guest
- I had answered on the DMSO list but just now saw your post here. If you have problems with MSM first thing not to do is don't orally take DMSO because it is MUCH stronger. I have done both. I'm not saying don't ever take DMSO, I'm saying don't take it yet. To test if you are truly reactive to MSM, buy a pound of granular Lignisul MSM only from this source: www.msm-msm.com. Do this because you can be assured of getting no fillers in it, which may be your problem with other brands. You can buy the capsules but I would suggest that before taking any of them you should break them open and take the MSM only without the capsule. That way you can do two things- you know exactly how much you are taking, and you can tell if the capsule itself causes any reaction. I personally often react badly to capsule gel. I take most of my supplements in bulk form not only for saving money but to avoid capsule gel upset stomach. There is nothing wrong with OptiMSM but I suggest trying Lignisul first because it has long been known to be the best. Last thing- you need to be sure that any " reactions " are not in fact detox symptoms. I had a very wild three month long detox ride when I first took MSM. The very first 250 milligram capsule caused massive gas. I eventually went to 40 GRAMS a day as a therapeutic dose and even tried up to 50 GRAMS daily where I encountered reversal of benefits. I now only take it once-in-a-while because I eventually defeated all the conditions I needed it for. Daddybob
