Honey, he is very much in my prayers, and I will put him on the church prayer list too. Heart attacks are not what people expect, that is why I am so anal about asking these girls what their pulses are when they tell me about the racing hearts and all. God Bless your dear sweet father !

Lynn, If your father made it through this far with that much blockage, he must already have an angel by his side. . . . We'll be praying for him . . . but I have a strong hunch, he's going do fine. He's got to be a very tough man! Hugs and prayers, Rogene

You are so right. He is so spunky for his age. Never gets sick and

if he is you'd never know it. Most people think he is in his 50's

and won't believe he is 71. He still works two part-time jobs.

I do believe he has angels and God on his side. I prayed Saturday

night to God that he would be with him because I just knew there was

something wrong! I believe my prayers were answered.

Thanks for the prayers. I am going to call Church tomorrow as well.

He loves his Church and I am sure they will pray for his recovery as

well.

Thank you Dede. I know what you mean about heart attacks. I know

enough about the symptoms to know that he was having one Saturday in

my car. Sometimes men can be stubborn though. My parents do not

have much money and so I know he worries about finances and sometimes

doesn't go to the doctor because of medical bills. He is on Medicare

but the deductibles are so dang high and they can't afford the

supplement plans. Anyhow, I hope when I go visit tomorrow he is

feeling much better. I could tell a difference from pre-surgery to

post. Pre-surgery he had such SOB and felt like a weight was sitting

on his chest. They gave him nitro, ASA, morphine and teredol (SP?),

no relief!!! After surgery he said he could breathe much better but

he still didn't look too great when I left the hospital. It is hard

to see him in so much pain. He was so scared.

Hello all,Please say a prayer for my father tonight, his name is Felix. Saturday in the car on the way back from my graduation to the party, I could have sworn he was having a heart attack. It is unlike him to ever complain and he is pretty dang healthy for a 71 y.o. Loves to dance, still very very active. Well he started sweating really bad, had to take off his sweater, roll-down the window and blast the A/C and still no relief. He was complaining that his left shoulder/arm hurt. I kept asking him how long it had hurt for, he said for a few months now. I asked if I could take him to the hospital and he insisted NO NO NO, he was fine. But I knew he wasn't fine. I think he was worried about ruining my big day - which is silly because my big day is nothing without him. Anyhow, that night I told my brother (who lives next door to my parents) about the ride home and how worried I was that he was going to die in my backseat. My brother told me he would make him go to the doctor today (Monday). Well my brother made an appointment, my dad still didn't want to go - but he started to feel worse so my brother took him in earlier than the appointment. They did an EKG, which came out very abnormal. The ambulance came and took him to the ER. They ran all sorts of tests (labs, EKGs, ECHOs, X-rays). They could tell he had a recent heart attack. I am sorry about your Dad. It sounds like he certainly missed

a " bullet " ...so to speak. So thankful you and your brother

persisted. I know he is too !

You are right . The doctor said last night that who ever made

him go to the doctor yesterday most likely saved his life. I am so

glad he got help, I know the recoop will be long and rough but he is

spunky and I know he'll do well.
