Guest guest
Sandy, I dont doubt you at all . I am very aware that all of these experiments we are doing can have consequences . Some people can not take MMS , some cannot take MSM.You have to listen when your body tells you something. Yours says definately not! I respect your wisdom in listening to your body.I do very much appreciate the warning to be careful.Fortunately I have never been allergic to sulfa drugs and I have taken MSM before, just not in this quantity.I have also taken DMSO before with no negative side effects. So I dont think I will have a problem. I will be careful and ramp up slowly. in NC http://www.chews4health.com/Wilkins--- On Mon, 3/9/09, ether_avatar <hollis302000@...> wrote: From: ether_avatar <hollis302000@...>Subject: [ ] MSM [not MMS] little known side effects. Guest guest
Kind of makes sense... MSM is after all an organic sulfur. Since it is a natural source, it should be far less of a problem than the drugs however. This would mean that you should have a similar reaction from eating soup made from scratch though (too bad!!). There is probably a allergy out there for every food, especially with all of the contaminants that we are exposed to today. ether_avatar wrote: MSM [not MMS] has pretty much been advertised as having no side effects...yet I had side effects while taking it...even at taking half doses of the recommended dosage. Guest guest
... I know how effective MSM can be and that it has helped many people. I wish I could take it. On the DMSO forum they have been talking about taking CMO [Cetyl Myristoleate] along with MSM and how great it is at healing joint pain. Oddly enough I can take DMSO without any ill effects whatsoever. I use it every day for joint pain and I sometimes use it with MMS in a transdermal application. I am glad that you can take the MSM without any side effects...many people do but I am not one of them. Best of health to you... There is a very good book The Miracle of MSM: The Natural Solution for Pain by Stanley , Regelson & Zucker. I have a copy but can't lay my hands on it at the moment. Some of the points made are that MSM has the toxicity of water but it is a very potent detoxifier. If you take too much, you can mobilize too many toxins too quickly. It can even mobilize heavy metals, so individuals need to be cautious about the dose. (If one feels they are releasing heavy metals, they should be taking some kind of binder such as French Green Clay, charcoal, or something like Detoxifiber that will absorb the metals and take them out of the body…something I didn't do and paid a heavy price with a gigantic headache that lasted for a while). It is a very potent anti-yeast medication that can result in a herxheimer reaction if the dose is too high. MSM can be significant in pain relief because most pain is toxicity related; but an individual's threshold has to be reached, and everyone is different. MSM is good for allergies because the human mucous barrier is a sulfur barrier and the sulfur binds to allergens and keeps them away from your nasal and sinus mucosa. As we age, the sulfur levels in our blood drops as we don't absorb as much of it from our food, our source of sulfur. This depletion keeps us from coping with toxicity issues. MSM is also excellent for hair, skin and fingernails and softening skin and reducing wrinkles. As per my last post, it bears repeating that it is vitality important to buy pharmaceutical grade MSM because of sulfur's ability to bind to toxins. If MSM is manufactured in a non-sterile environment it will pick up whatever is in the environment and can be extremely toxic. MSM I believe is used a lot in the horse industry and can be found at some vets or hardware type places for a very cheap price. These may not be pharmaceutical grade and can be dangerous. Also, MSM is a derivative of DMSO; therein is the similarity of the absorption/detox capabilities of the two products and the need to keep the skin clean when using DMSO. Bottom line is that we are all different and react in different ways, and should proceed with caution. For most, though not all, it seems to be very helpful if used correctly. Hope this is helpful; I still want to find my book… Diane
Guest guest
Thank you, Jim...that is something to consider. I do know that whenever I take chlorella or any green whole foods [to add to my drinks] I get violently ill. I guess that is my body herxing but my God, I have to wonder how long I have to take it and feel that way before I see some relief? I suffered through taking chlorella for 2 months straight and it seemed with the herxing there was no end in sight. I thought I would try taking very small doses but the same thing happened. I may try again and take even smaller doses and see if I can handle that. I know I have candida and the MMS has not helped it like I had thought it would so I will have to try something else. Guest guest
Thank you Tan...very much... Interesting site. I have read Kelley Eidem's posts on Dr Mercola which are usually pretty informative. Guest guest
Hi Jim... I have read about Zeolite and once considered purchasing some but never did. However, on your recommendation I'm going to go ahead and get some...sounds like it might be just the thing to help me. First though I will check out for any possible side effects. For the last several nights I have taken the chorella at night right before I go to bed and it seems I am not having the bad effects [just some slight stomach upset] of before but I may have to take it awhile before I notice any really negative effects? Thanks for your help, Jim...it's greatly appreciated. Guest guest
i know you're trying to help but following this advice for eliminating mercury is dangerous. it's gotten many into trouble. safest way i've found is via any cutler's method. see book amalgam illness. also this list: frequent-dose-chelation monique Take some things that are known to bind mercury a little before taking the MSM... cilantro, chlorella and clay water are three things I know of that are powerful mercury binders... Maybe they can bind the mercury as it is released... if in fact that is what is causing your reaction to it... I'm also wondering if 'allergy to Sulfa drugs' is actually some other problem that can be resolved...
Guest guest
sandy you really need to read amalgam illness by dr. andrew cutler. it sounds like you. everything you to react to cholrella, MSM - it gives good reason for.
Guest guest
... I read your response to the other poster and have looked up the Cutler protocol [and have it bookmarked]. It sounds really good and I agree with you that this must be my problem. I have had amalgam fillings for as long as I can remember. The dentist I have gone to in the past kept putting off getting ride of my old silver fillings...needless to say I'm looking for another dentist who will do what I ask. I'm also going to make an appointment with a Naturopathic doctor and talk to him about the Cutler protocol...maybe he can help me with it? Thank you so much for this suggestion...I know it will help. Guest guest
hi sandy make sure you find a dentist who is well versed in correct protocol for removing amalgams. if you don;t use correct prot you can release more mercury into your body. if you post ont he frequent chelation group they can help you find a practit near you who can help. monique
