A small health food store and radio program promotes alternative health products and vitamins in Rhode Island. They sometimes describe benefits based on user stories and case studies. By radio, some of their signal reaches over to Canada. The Goliath Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Food and Drug Administration has launched an attack because the store owners directly recommend natural remedies. But in this case is fighting Goliath.. The company expects to go to court against the FTC and FDA over their attempts to censor "natural alternatives" as opposed to costly chemical and drug medications. Jim Feijo set up the Rhode Island-based service with his wife - 30 years ago. The dispute arose after officials in the

Canadian health service contacted him and ordered him to shut down his operations. Jim declined to cooperate, so Canadian officials contacted the FTC and FDA to insist on their demands. The FTC offered to "settle its claims" if the radio program was shut down and a fine was paid. But Jim's lawyers refused and raised these issues: "What is the nature and intent of the law the FTC seeks to enforce? Doesn't the Constitution restrain government power in enforcing that law? The courts make it clear that government must clearly identify health claim wrongs and use the least intrusive power to correct them.
