Guest guest
>MSM< (not MMS): When my sciatica was really bad (and anyone who has had sciatica knows just how bad that can be), I was up to at least 1/2 cup a day, maybe more. I was really not counting, I just wanted relief. I was taking a heaping tablespoonful every time I thought about it... maybe three hours apart. The sciatica went away and... low and behold... my bad knee, the one that I damaged in a ski accident started healing. I was told by a sports doctor that my only choice was knee replacement surgery... and it also healed my tennis elbow and got rid of the arthritis in my fingers and neck that I had had for thirty years. Mind you, I had been taking a gram a day of this stuff for years along with many other joint supplements and it probably did some good but it did not heal my joint problems. I have never stopped taking the other supplements, but I only take them in small quantities. As I said, I don't think that you can actually ingest too much MSM. I stayed on this serious regimen until my knee totally healed, then I backed off. Now I'll take a heaping tablespoonful anytime I get a tinge of joint pain anywhere but not on a daily basis. But my dog and I both get a heaping teaspoonful every day, generally. The interesting thing is that this stuff is not only very effective, but it acts very, very quickly. I can't believe how almost no information gets out on MSM when taken in quantity other than for animals. Alan wrote: Jim, I'm also curious to know how much "huge" is. Interestinger and interestinger... thanks Jim! So, how long did it take for this process? Meaning, how long taking these quantities before you 'backed off'? The reason I'm asking is my Mom may be willing to try this, she also had a serious knee injury from a skiing accident and has had problems ever since. -- Best regards,

Guest guest
As I said, smaller quantities did not get the results that I was after. Younger people may get away with less, but if you are not getting results, double the dose until you do. tanstaafl@... wrote: On 3/9/2009 12:22 PM, jim wrote: >> > I stayed on this serious regimen until my knee totally healed, then >> I backed off. >> >> Interestinger and interestinger... thanks Jim! >> >> So, how long did it take for this process? Guest guest
Jim , I fell down the three steps into my garage in november 08. It was not a pretty sight .I ended up in a split with my lower leg jammed behind me with a twisted knee and ankle. I thoght I had broken something but mannaged to get up and walk away from it . Then I couldnt walk for a week.I slowly healed but it isnt right yet.I also have some broken veins and bruising on that same leg I think from the accident. So Im going to try the MSM cure since Im tired of hobling around. I hope it works as good for me as it did for you! Ive been taking it for 3 days now and already my shoulder pain which I am guessing is arthritis is better , but then again , maybe its this lovely ,sunny ,warm weather we are having here in the South Thanks ! Guest guest
Sounds bad, but probably no worse than my ski accident. I was skiing alone at about Killlington doing about 35 mph when I caught an edge... no one else was around. While spinning in the air, my tip caught and my binding did not release. I kept spinning, but my lower leg did not. The loud snap sounded like a raw leg bone on a chicken when it is broken out of the joint. I was sure that I broke my leg (it was actually worse in some ways). It was a month or so before I was able to walk unassisted, but with pain. The point is that there is hope. MSM works better when you take the other common joint supplements with it. I take about 30 others in small quantities, so don't skimp... and read a lot... do your homework. Some less common ones that seem to help are: Cats Claw and Cynatine FLX (Swanson)... Hyaluronic Acid, and MicroLactin (sold in a mix from Swanson with Glucosamine). These are by no means your only options and I don't know what I could have given up to get what I needed, but I was taking these before I got on the high dosage of MSM, so I know what finally got me over the hump.
