Guest guest
Hi! I am new to this board. I am 19 and from Chicago. I was diagnosed with JRA just over three years ago. I take Relafin and Methotrexate, but have also used (and still use) a variety of alternative treatments such as vitamin supplements and accupuncture. One of the best tips I have ever received for pain/swelling relief: I fill a basin with steaming hot water and vinegar and soak my hands and/or feet in it for at least 20 minutes. I am sure this could also be used in a bathtub for a full body soak. It is so relaxing and definitely works! Glad to be here! _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our group. Glad you found us but sorry for the reasons you're here. Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of vinegar soaks. Do you use plain white vinegar or apple cider vinegar? I'm looking forward to getting to know you. a > Hi! Guest guest
Welcome to the group! Sorry that you are so young and saddled with such a big challenge. I think I'll try that vinegar soak sometime. If only it smelled better .... [ ] New! > Hi! I am 19 and was diagnosed with JRA just over three years ago. Guest guest
When I worked Vet Tech, the local hunters that came in said to soak a hunting dogs feet in Vinegar & water. I asked the Vet, after they left, " Why? " And he told me that the vinegar make the skin " tough. " So as to your email. I am wondering, would it also make " our " skin " tough " ? I am all for anything to help with the pain, but don't want leather-like skin in the process! Anyone know the answer to this?
