Guest guest
Vicki, Thanks for mentioning this. I have been wondering what people were meaning by "herxing". Now I have a bit of a clue. Guest guest
you're welcome happy yoga. i just dont know how anyone can know if it is a natural herx versus a bad reaction. It's especially worrisome to me when the symptoms one feels aer worse are specifically the ones they are trying to heal. And i am not talking about generalized non specific symptoms like body aches and headaches but less common specific symptoms that you normally have and are now worse, but again, why are they worse? is it other facters? coincidental? or mms causing one problems? no one seems to know. Guest guest
I wondered about that myself when migraines ensued. (Though they are common with me really). I will say that last night I got 3 1/2 hours sleep at a time, twice (!) and it is the longest I have slept in years due to night sweats. I won't say they are gone, but last night was encouraging. For over a decade the docs have pooh-poohed it as hormonal, but after this long, and being way post menopausal, I am sure it is something undetected. The docs do agree it has been excessive, but have not a clue as to why. I am not sure it is right, but I am presently taking around six drops three times a day. I am beginning to feel a bit more confident in this process, as there are moments of feeling better that are not common for me. Also, the pain I have felt in my left side under my breast has not been waking me up either. But, who knows if this is incidental or what. I plan to keep taking remedy for a while to see where it leads healthwise. I am expecting a grandchild in February and need some energy and health to travel to see him. Guest guest
I think you can tell the difference between herxing and a bad reaction. A bad reaction will occur fairly quickly like when they put staples in my c-section wound and I broke out in a rash so severe that I had to be treated with steroids. I have biotoxin disease from mold exposure but there are many other biotoxin disease causes including Lyme disease pfiesteria, harmful algae bloom and ciguatera. From my exposure I have hypothyroidism, Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency (almost died a few times from adrenal failure), biotoxin disease and Fibromyalgia. All of my diseases can be linked to my exposure to mold. None of us on this board can tell you what to do or how to use MMS. That is a decision you have to make for yourself after reading the book. If you feel that you are reacting by all means stop taking it. Only you know what is going on and you are the best judge. All we can do is share our experience, strength and hope as well as any bad reactions to MMS. My bad reaction included diarrhea. I did MMS for about two months and now I can't stand the taste of it but I do take it if I am coming down with something. I have had the best medical care money can buy and went to over 20+ doctors. None of them were able to tell me what was wrong until a woman on another support group told me about the mold issue. She was a former employee of the CDC and I still converse with her. She was poisoned by the CDC. They kept sending her into a moldy building. Now she is totally disabled. I am lucky I started back to work recently and I am functional but I don't believe anybody ever gets over being exposed to mold. Women sick from their breast implants also suffer and by the time they figure out it's bacteria and mold on their implants they are almost dead. I have very little confidence in our medical system. They are in it to make money and a lot of their treatments are toxic. If it is working for you so be it. If it's not do some research and educate yourself. Find out what is wrong with you. It took me five years and lots of research. Below is a definition of the Herxheimer reaction. I have had mild herxing from a bacteria infection (releases endotoxins) and mold exposure (releases mycotoxins). Lyme patients have really bad herxing. The Herxheimer reaction (also known as Jarisch-Herxheimer or Herx) occurs when large quantities of toxins are released into the body as bacteria (typically Spirochetal bacteria) die, due to antibiotic treatment or rapid detoxification. Typically the death of these bacteria and the associated release of endotoxins occurs faster than the body can remove the toxins via the natural detoxification process performed by the kidneys and liver. It is manifested by fever, chills, headache, myalgia (muscle pain), and exacerbation of skin lesions. Duration in syphilis is normally only a few hours but can be much longer, up to months or years, for other diseases. The intensity of the reaction reflects the intensity of inflammation present. The Herxheimer reaction has shown an increase in inflammatory cytokines during the period of exacerbation, including tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-6 and interleukin-8. " Here's a good website with reputable MD that tell the truth about what is going on in our medical system. http://www.ahrp.org/cms/content/view/18/87/ Best of luck, Sharon > > > From: HappyYoga@... <HappyYoga@...> > Subject: Re: [ ]Quitting MMS due to dryness & possible thyroi... > > Date: Friday, January 9, 2009, 4:42 PM > > > > > > > > Vicki, > > Thanks for mentioning this.
