Guest guest
To find the right concentration is easy if you have access to pH strips or a pH meter. Simply take 5 drops of MMS and activate it with 25 drops of 10% citric acid solution. After 3 minutes, observe the pH of the stirred solution (let's call it the reference pH). Now, you can empirically find out the amount of HCl needed by matching the reference pH obtained above. Starting with 5 drops of MMS, you can first try 5 drops of HCl. If the overall pH after 3 minutes of stirring is lower than the reference pH, then you can then try 5 drops of MMS with 4 drops of HCl. Conversely, if the pH is higher than the reference pH with the 5+5 combination, then you next try 5+6, and so on. from Israel > > Thanks. It makes it so much simpler.
