Guest guest
Hi , I got rid of strep throat in 24 hours by gargling with Lugol's iodine solution diluted somewhat with plain water. Guest guest
I combine Histidine Mouthwash (maybe other powerful mouthwash would also do) with Hydrogen Peroxide 50-50 and gargle with it for a minute. I try to put the solution as far back in my throat as possible then spit it out and not rinse it. In a about half an hour you should notice the remarkable difference. --- In , " " <blacksands@...> wrote: > > Hi All, > > > > This is the 3rd day of a sore throat (possibly the beginnings of strept). > Can someone suggest something so I can rid myself of it and/or at the very > least not have the soreness? > > > > I've done some gargling with CS (can't determine if that's helped or maybe > prevented it from getting worse). > > > > Would love to hear from folks that have had something similar and nipped it > in the bud! > > > > Thank you. > > > > >
Guest guest
I just got over something that sounds very like what you have. Was at work on Tues but was starting to sound hoarse. Stayed home Wed and Thurs just in case it was “The Swine” and am back at work today. What I do in these cases is as follows. Constantly spray, as often as possible or desired, the eyes, nasal passages, and the mouth with Colloidal Silver spray. (This is 10 to 20 ppm ionic silver that I make at home). Also, spray it in the mouth while breathing in to get it into the bronchial passages/lungs. If the cold has taken hold, I also take small oral doses, about 1 Tablespoon (half a “shot”) to 2 Tablespoons (1 “shot”) every hour or so as long as I don’t have too much food in the stomach. This (and spraying as in the paragraph above) always works to shorten the duration and keeps one from getting any additional infection or congestion. Other things that help are cayenne tincture, or cayenne water, in the back of the throat. It is uncomfortable, but you can really feel the circulation get going, and it calms it down for a while. Licorice root boiled in water to make a tea is also great. It is an expectorant and will ease the tickling and dry or unproductive cough. I had some Echinacea root that someone had just given me that I was trying to make into a tincture with alcohol, I used some dropper-fulls of that. Don’t know if it made any difference or not… As old fashioned as it sounds, gargling with hot salt water also if very effective. Salt kills off bad stuff and the hot water stimulates the circulation and moistens the mucus, etc. Gargle the whole cup of water… For nasal congestion, also do netti wash with warm salt water. Hi All, This is the 3rd day of a sore throat (possibly the beginnings of strept). Can someone suggest something so I can rid myself of it and/or at the very least not have the soreness? I’ve done some gargling with CS (can’t determine if that’s helped or maybe prevented it from getting worse). Would love to hear from folks that have had something similar and nipped it in the bud! Guest guest
I have oregano oil…should I use that straight or dilute it? I can’t use my Lugol’s re: Dr’s orders as we are trying to get a baseline result of blood work without supplements (I keep having both hypo and hyperthyroid symptoms and the numbers go up and down). Guest guest
Chamomile tea is one of the best natural remedies for strep throat. Its analgesic properties can provide rapid relief for throat pain and headaches. Administered every few hours, chamomile tea can also reduce fever and prevent dehydration. A very strong natural remedy, sage can reduce inflammation, protecting the soft tissues of the throat and respiratory system. Sage can be used either under the form of tincture or under the form of capsules. Thanks to its antibiotic properties, garlic is also an appropriate home remedy for strep throat. Gargling with salt water can fight against bacteria and can reduce throat inflammation and pain, while saline nasal sprays can help decongest the airways clogged with mucus. When suffering from strep throat, it is very important to maintain a warm temperature in your bedroom and to increase the air humidity by using mist humidifiers. You should avoid exposure to chemicals or irritants such as cigarette smoke and alcohol vapors. You should keep away from any substance with strong, persistent odor in order to prevent further inflammation of the respiratory system's soft tissues and membranes. It is recommended to avoid drinking cold or very hot beverages, as they can cause throat irritation and pain, slowing down the process of healing. Also, keep away from spicy and irritant foods, as they are not tolerated well by an inflamed throat. When suffering from strep throat, you should only eat soft foods such as soups, yogurts, mashed potatoes, and non-irritant fruits. When suffering from strep throat, make sure you get enough sleep. Sleep is vital for body regeneration and for maintaining a strong immune system. However, due to the discomfort and pain caused by the infection with bacteria, you might have difficulties in falling asleep. Home remedies for strep throat that have both sedative and analgesic effects are ginseng and passion flower. - -- In , " Dan Nave " <Dan.Nave@...> wrote: > > I just got over something that sounds very like what you have. Guest guest
, try diluting the oregano oil with olive oil 50/50. If results are not forthcoming, then try it straight. Hold the solution under your tongue as long as possible; it won't be pleasant but it will knock out strep throat. from Israel > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > This is the 3rd day of a sore throat (possibly the beginnings of strept). > > Can someone suggest something so I can rid myself of it and/or at the very > > least not have the soreness? > > > > > > > > I've done some gargling with CS (can't determine if that's helped or maybe > > prevented it from getting worse). > > > > > > > > Would love to hear from folks that have had something similar and nipped > it > > in the bud! > > > > > > > > Thank you. > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Thanks .., I actually did something similar yesterday a couple times. I took a dropper and filled it half way – then I dribbled as accurately as I could on the back of my throat. It wasn’t all that unpleasant – and I swirled and gargled as best I could. I can say it’s lots better and I plan on doing the same thing tonight. I also used some tea tree oil too (I had used that before and it helped). So with everyone’s suggestions I’m certainly doing A LOT better than I was J Glad to know the oregano oil will work with strep – I’ll stick with it. Now, if someone is willing to share a good place to get Olive leaf extract OR on how I could make it myself I’d be extremely grateful! Guest guest
, www.vitacost.com has olive leaf extract. Just type in those words in the search bar. Vitacost is one of the lowest cost sources of online nutrients and extracts that I have been able to locate. I am happy with their quality extracts from Nature's Answer. from Israel > > > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > > > > > This is the 3rd day of a sore throat (possibly the beginnings of > strept). > > > Can someone suggest something so I can rid myself of it and/or at the > very > > > least not have the soreness? > > > > > > > > > > > > I've done some gargling with CS (can't determine if that's helped or > maybe > > > prevented it from getting worse). > > > > > > > > > > > > Would love to hear from folks that have had something similar and nipped > > it > > > in the bud! > > > > > > > > > > > > Thank you. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
