Guest guest
I love it for them. In fact I need to get in the habit again. It really cuts down on all kinds of critters in the yard, everything that goes near my dog's waste or the dirt where it limes, is exposed to the DE. What that does is serve as an IGR, because it interferes with reproduction. I sprinkle a teaspoon or two on their food and stir it up. Then I enjoy my mosquito and fly free yard. But let me step out of the boundary...it's like the flying insects can't penetrate our DE force field. Very real help. Very cool. katie > > Hi Group: > Does anyone know if food grade DE can be given to dogs or cats and would it help them? > Mel > >
Guest guest
Hi Mel, I've been taking it for over three weeks and wish I had started it from day one. Pretty sure it is helping. Guest guest
Food grade DE Dust is safe when used properly. No dust is safe to inhale because it would get into the lungs. It is the same concept as baby powder, it is used on babies daily but if directly inhaled it could be dangerous. One way to avoid inhaling the head lice powder would be to use a dust mask during application. Food grade diatomaceous earth powder. It is made of crushed fossils of fresh water organisms and marine life. It is made to cut the exoskeleton of head lice like shards of glass causing the head lice to dehydrate and die and is also commonly used as a natural pesticide. I give it to my pets all the time mixed in their food it deworms and also kills fleas. Donna ACS
