Hi

I posted in a different group about my iron deficiency and received great suggestions...

*leafy greens daily

*sea veggies, nibble Nori sheet every day, sprinkle dulse over your veggies...

*vitamin C increases absorption, so have sauerkraut, lemon dressing or quickly blanched cawliflower with your meals

*positively soak your grains and beans overnight and discard the soaking water

*tempeh and tofu are also high in iron

*mochi

*daily walks in the woods help your blood, too

*ume concentrate drink (tiny amount diluted with water only once a week)

My pediatrician also suggested an old remedy - the rusty apple. Stick a rusty nail in an apple overnight and have the apple the next day. The apple will be loaded with iron, a healthy person might get an iron poisoning...Please don't have any coffee or sugar. They would drain minerals from your body!

I have followed most of the advice given to me. Even though I haven't had my blood checked yet, I feel so much better.

Best of luck,

Nadine (no smartie, but happy to pass on wonderful suggestions to boost my iron levels)

Hi

I got your message, thanks for the call.

I’m certainly not a macro counselor, but aren’t leafy greens the best source for iron.

It's hard to write with my mouth hanging open - Dottie, what is stopping you from being in the profession - you have so much wisdom to share.

Yes, I'm the 1-water, so very happy to support you Danny in any way I can :>) But don't know that much about my other numbers - wish I knew the time I was born - but wish for lots of other things as well!!!! 5/22/45 - also wish I was more orderly so I kept those notes that told me about my numbers as well as my family members.
