Guest guest
Hi Amy, I just wanted to share my story with you. My son is 7.5 months old. I noticed he would only turn his head one way and that he had a flat spot when he was 2 months old. The doctor diagnosed him with plagiocephaly and torticollis. The Dr. took my word on it because he didn't see him often enough to know that he never turned his head to the left. didn't have any lumps though but the muscle was very tight. Our first step was to get a CT to rule out any other problems that could cause the flatness, we also went to see a pediatric nuerosurgeon. He did not recommend the helmet because he sees the worst all the time and 's case wasn't as bad as what he sees. He did recommend PT. So we started PT and reo but I wasn't really faithful about it because I didn't realize how serious it was. About 2 months ago, when was 6 months old I had a reality check. I was comfronted by my husband and mother-in-law about how serious the flatness really was. At first, I didn't want to believe it- I was in denial. But I agreed to go to a consultation with the orthotics place in our area. The orthotist confirmed that 's plagio was serious enough to get the helmet. So we have ordered our helmet and it should be in any day now. We also had alot of people telling us that the helmet wasn't necessary but our family Dr. supported us totally. Now, I am at peace with our decision and I am glad we decided to get the helmet. I now see what everyone else saw. I guess I just had "mommy goggles" on. I didn't see anything wrong. If Jaden does have Tort. it could slow down his development, so he needs PT. I hope hearing my story helps you. Go with your instincts, they are usually right. Guest guest
Thank you for being here. I/ve suddenly been stricken with a serious flu. Can you please tell me where I can get some MMS locally? I'm in Southern Cal, in the San Valley area. Surely someone sells it here, I can't afford to wait for it to be shipped. Any other advise would be much apppreciated. God bless, Brad
