Guest guest
ABSOLUTELY: THE PROBLEM HERE IS NOT WITH THE T3 BUT WITH THE PHARMACY, but your T3 is only as good as your pharmacy. This was a " compounding pharmacy " , excellent reputation, and excellent record, in business for many, many years. Just so happens that because some people were having problems with the dye they were using as their mixing guide they changed their process. They stopped using colored dye; therefore they had no way to visually verify that the powder was thoroughly mixed. They made a mistake. I just happened to be the lucky one to be the first recipient of their new process (or perhaps the victim of an inattentive technician operating the mixing machine). I'm not suggesting anyone stop taking compounded T3, only to be aware that even the best pharmacies can make a mistake that can cause you major damage. If things don't seem right after starting a newly refilled prescription of compounded T3 (or any compounded drug), proceed carefully. I have tried many experimental protocols the last 10 years for my lifetime of FMS/lyme and company and have on several occasions made myself extremely sick…but without the experimentation and taking some chances, I would not have made the progress that I have achieved. I'm a " tough " old bird…but, that being said, being poisoned by extremely high doses of improperly compounded T3 was an absolutely horrific experience both mentally and physically, with frightening consequences…and having experienced it once, will not go there again if at all possible. (The T3 was to support me because of the LD, not because labs indicated I needed it. I'm now using Nascent iodine to support my thyroid. If a significant need arises for T3, I will go non-compounded just for piece of mind.) Hopefully, no one else will have such an experience with their compounded meds. Best wishes… Diane > > > > Well..it would make sense if one of your active levels was very low that your body would be making too much of the inactive form...again, pointing to a conversion issue...I hope you find someone to help you through this. I was almost immobilized by lack of T3, until an alternative physician looked beyond the standard tests and prescribed compounded T3 for me. I wish you good health. > > > PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL OF COMPOUNDED T3. MY PHARMACY FAILED TO MIX MY PRESCRIPTION THOROUGHTLY AND I WAS BADLY POISIONED. ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER TAKING ONLY 6 CAPSULES OVER A TWO WEEK PERIOD. WAS SO SICK, I WASN'T WELL ENOUGH TO TAKE MY PRESCRIBED DOSE (THANK GOODNESS …OR IT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE KILLED ME). I DIDN'T MAKE THE CONNECTION THAT IT WAS THE T3 THAT WAS MAKING ME SO SICK. THE OVERDOSE DID SERIOUS DAMAGE. THE EXPERIENCE WAS A NIGHTMARE. BE CAREFUL……I WILL NEVER TAKE COMPOUNDED T3 AGAIN. JUST BE AWARE .... > > Diane >
