Guest guest
Hi Sheryl, Good luck with the surgery. Hayden will do great with Dr. Pashby. (I assume it's a sling surgery) I know it'll be tough after surgery and he'll look a little different but Hayden will be thrilled with the results, I'm sure. The last post-op was the toughest part for Keaton - little nauseous and didn't want to try to throw up. The first 2 surgeries were easier cause he just wanted to sleep post-op. The nurses had to 'kick us out'. Vitamin E cream after the stitches have fallen out will do wonders to help the scars to fade. Take care. Call or email if you have any questions - just down the highway. el.Evergreen Lee397 Freeman Crescent,Oakville, ON L6H 4R4Phone: 905 338-8762Cell: 416 526-7581 blepharophimosis From: sherylkampen@...Date: Tue, 8 Jul 2008 21:59:45 -0400Subject: blepharophimosis Hayden's surgery Hi everyone, It has been a long time since I've written but I just wanted you all to know that Hayden's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th with Dr. Pashby at Sick Kids in Toronto. Of course we are dealing with all the pre-op nerves of worry, excitement and fear that we will miss our sweet son's face and his little eyes that have caused us so many smiles and tears. I'm sure I will be emailing a million questions about eye drops and post surgery issues next week . . . hope at least a few of you are not on summer vacation! Guest guest
Sheryl: Good luck with Hayden's surgery on Tuesday....we'll be thinking of you. That first day is tough but the healing process is so remarkable. I know what you mean about the pre-op nerves but Hayden's journey with you as his parents and his doctors have brought you to this point and your strength will help him. We will be thinking of you and anxious to hear (and see) that Hayden is recovering well. Take care and know that others are thinking of you too. --Anne Weber-- Chicago, IL, USA > From: Sheryl Kampen <sherylkampen@...> > Subject: blepharophimosis Hayden's surgery > blepharophimosis > Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 2:59 PM > Hi everyone, > > It has been a long time since I've written but I just > wanted you all to know that Hayden's surgery is > scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th with Dr. Pashby at Sick > Kids in Toronto. > Of course we are dealing with all the pre-op nerves of > worry, excitement and fear that we will miss our sweet > son's face and his little eyes that have caused us so > many smiles and tears. > > I'm sure I will be emailing a million questions about > eye drops and post surgery issues next week . . . hope at > least a few of you are not on summer vacation! > > I'll let you know how it goes, > Sheryl (Hayden's Mom) > Burlington, ON > Canada > > _________________________________________________________________
Guest guest
Sheryl, I know what you mean when you say you will miss Hayden's "little eyes that have caused us so many smiles and tears." I was thrilled to have Paige's surgery completed but I really was going to miss her little eyes. But now that she can see so much better, I am so thankful for the surgery. And really the overall look of her "little" eyes didn't change all that much. Just enough for her to be able to (in her words) see her granny's face and hair at the same time. Best of luck to you and Hayden! You both will do GREAT! Guest guest
I'm a new member from Cambridge Ontario. My son is 19. D. Pashby operated on him twice 18 years ago. He is doing very well and his scars have faded nicely. My son has thick bushy eyebrows. He has been having his eyebrows waxed every three months or so. Are bushy eyebrows part of this disorder? I'm not sure. He has been asking questions recently about his unusual eyes and his eyelid operations. He has never been told the whole story, so I think it is about time I told him. I hope Hayden is doing well. CE > > I posted some pictures - please have a look. Hayden has been happy through it all. We've had our moments but mostly he is smiling! Guest guest
Hi There, My son is also 19 years old and was also operated on by Dr. Pashby. We live near North Bay. I also have BPES and have been going to Dr. Pashby for years. I always tell new parents to be really open with their kids about BPES as my parents were not with me and I always wondered why I was so different from my siblings. If you would like you can email me directly at katigraw@... Take care, Restoule, ON Canada PS bushy eyebrows are not a part of BPES blepharophimosis Re: Hayden's surgery I'm a new member from Cambridge Ontario. My son is 19. D. Guest guest
Hi There, I'm Dolph from Amsterdam - The Netherlands. welcom here. As of today I haven't heard about bushy eyebrows in combination with blepharophimose. Our son has B. and he's the first in the family. We discussed B. with him from the first moment he came up with the question why his eye were different from the eyes of his class-mates, and that was in kindergarten. When 19 years old I think it's about time to talk about B. If your feeling unsecure about that maybee there are professionals or other people with b. nearby to help you with that. Best regards, Dolph ceccles_ca schreef: I'm a new member from Cambridge Ontario. My son is 19. D. Pashby operated on him twice 18 years ago. He is doing very well and his scars have faded nicely. Guest guest
I have now explained everything to my 19 year old son. He was very happy to know all about it. I said that I wished that I had told him sooner and he said that he already knew most of the story. He now has a name for it and knows that he's not alone. Thank you all for your recent messages.
