Guest guest
Hi Amy Just happened to be on and read your email. I am not a doctor, but rest assured your daughter does not have BPES. Those of us who have it are born with it, it does not just appear later in life. Try not to worry too much....it will probably go back to normal in time. Ontario, Canada blepharophimosis Am I at the right place?? Hi everyone,My name is Amy and I have a 4 year old daughter who came down with a high fever this week and somewhere in the 2nd day her left eye began drooping down past her right eye. I've spent day and night on Google trying to ease my fears, but have been unsuccessful. Is it possible this is ptosis? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I have taken her to her ped. and he said he "suspects" it will take care of itself. I love where I live, but I really doubt there is a ptosis specialist in Mississippi. Is that what I should be looking for? The fever has lifted but the drooping has not.I might be over-reacting, but this is my beautiful little girl. Thanks for any advice,Amy
Guest guest
I'm not a doctor but I know everybody with BPES is born with the condition, it never comes at a later age. Take the medical advice you have been given and give it some time, If Amy has a problem with ptosis I'm quite sure there are docters in Mississippi with ptosis as a speciality. Guest guest
Amy: I am not a dr but as the other e-mails stated BPES is a genetic condition. I would ask your pediatrician to recommend a pediatric ophthalmologist if the ptosis does not improve. There are many reasons ptosis can appear and your pediatrician and ophthalmologist would have the best advice. Hope this helps and no worries about checking in here, it is so hard when you are worrying about your child and trying to find the answers. ---Anne Weber-- Chicago, IL USA From: chezduclos <chezduclos@...>Subject: blepharophimosis Am I at the right place??blepharophimosis Date: Saturday, June 14, 2008, 9:36 AM Hi everyone,My name is Amy and I have a 4 year old daughter who came down with a high fever this week and somewhere in the 2nd day her left eye began drooping down past her right eye. Guest guest
Hi there,I had a friend who had a similar thing happen to her, and she was diagnosed with "bell's palsy" It was not permanent, and it did correct itself. Maybe it would be worthwhile looking into that....The whole left side of her face started drooping, including her eye.People are either born with ptosis, or can develop it in the their elderly years, but the BpES condition is something congenital, meaning you are born with it.Regards,Machaela (australia) From: chezduclos <chezduclos (DOT) com>Subject: blepharophimosis Am I at the right place??blepharophimosisDate: Saturday, June 14, 2008, 9:36 AM Hi everyone,My name is Amy and I have a 4 year old daughter who came down with a high fever this week and somewhere in the 2nd day her left eye began drooping down past her right eye.
