Hi all,

Liliana had her first surgery this past Wednesday. They did a

frontalis lift (ptosis correction) using a synthetic material. All

went well and so far the results are looking great. Her eyes aren't

completely even but they still look great, but more importantly they

are opened so much more now. I wasn't prepared for just how upset

Liliana was going to be after the surgery - I guess I thought she'd

be more groggy but she was quite coherent and very upset. I was so

relieved to hold her and that the surgery went well.

Lili's eyes were quite swollen Wednesday but gradually have gotten

better. In fact, they look pretty great and we've all been

pleasantly surprised at how fast she is healing.

We knew going into this that there was a possibility that she would

have difficulty closing her eyes after the surgery and that is just

what came to be today as her swelling has subsided. Fortunately our

Dr. equipped us with ointment in case this occurred, but it's still a

bit alarming. Has anyone else had a similar experience with the eyes

not completely closing (particularly while sleeping)? If so, was

readjusting done or was it simply dealt with by lubricating the eye?

I'd be curious to know. Thank's for those of you who sent your best

wishes, advice, and prayers. God has truly blessed Liliana and our

family throughout the last few days.
