Guest guest
My 20 year old had her surgery 11 years ago. She, too, has bushy eyebrows and has them frequently waxed. Her right eye slightly droops more than the left, but overall they are pretty much in alignment. She has big, gorgeous, blue eyes. Guest guest
I have discussed the idea of whether bushy eyebrows are connected with BPES with my family and friends because I have really curly eyebrows and when my daughter was born quite a few people said " WOW look at her long eyebrows! " . Maybe there is some sort of connection??
Guest guest
Yup, I think it may well have to do with the BPES. I call getting my eyebrows waxed, having the muppet removed. I do find if they go overboard, the scars are more noticable. I think there's a picture of my Dad an I in my photos, my grandfather's eyebrows were just as epic. Guest guest
In my family, those of us with bpes have nearly no eyebrows at all, almost as bad as having bushy brows. Guest guest
OMG!!! I just found this group today. I am so Excited. I have 3 boys...2 of which have BPES Ages 8 and 3 (my 5 yr old does not have it). They both have VERY bushy eyebrows. I have never heard that the bushy eyebrows was associated with BPES but it makes absolute sense. My ex-husband has BPES and has the same busy eyebrows. My oldest has undergone 3 surgeries and my 3 year old will be having his 2nd soon. > > From: Belinda <shewhomustbekept@ aol.com> > Subject: blepharophimosis Re: Bushy Eyebrows > blepharophimosis > Date: Friday, August 29, 2008, 7:56 AM > > > > > Yup, I think it may well have to do with the BPES. > I call getting my eyebrows waxed, having the muppet removed. Guest guest
Welcome ! It is too early for me to tell if the busy eyebrow thing is a characteristic or not... is very fair and has net needed a haircut yet so we'll have to wait and see if his eyebrows fill in. --Anne Weber-- Chicago, IL USA > From: Michel <jessicamichel224@...> > Subject: blepharophimosis Re: Bushy Eyebrows > blepharophimosis > Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008, 1:25 PM > OMG!!! Guest guest
We are in Phoenix, AZ USA. Until my first son was born with BPES I knew nothing about it; as although my exhusband has it he himself knew nothing about his condition as his mother never told him or simply staes she knew nothing of it either. Growing up mu ex husbands parents simply thought or told him it was due to pregnancy and delivery complications. So when my first born was diagnosed it was very insightful for both me and their dad and his parents. It skipped our second son and our third has it also. Until I found this website group I had no Idea it was so popular. I was brought to tears also lol Thank you!!!! Kind Regards S. Guest guest
Dear , When our son was born in 1971 blepharophimosis was unknow to 99% of the docters. Bl. does not come up in my or my wifes family and our second child does not have Bl. Firstly he was treated on his tear-tubes, which of course was useless, but nobody knew. Then he was operated by a eye surgeaon at the eye-clinic of the Leiden University but no result. 12 years later we learned that his "problem" had to do plastcal surgon. That was done beautifully by a professor at the Rotterdam Children Hospital, but still we had no name for it. When he married and the first granddaughter was born (2004) my wife and I immediately recognised that had the same eyes as her father. It took me several hours on the internet to learn about Bl. Several weeks later we found this site and its equivalent in the German language. Regards, Dolph Heideman (The Netherlands) ps. Our son has grown up with Bl. and he did fine everywhere, in school, university, sports and in his jobs. At the moment he holds a management position in one of the larger banks in the Netherlands and Belgium. S. Michel schreef: We are in Phoenix, AZ USA. Guest guest
WOW! thank you so much for the information. My children's father was born in 1975 and he had surgery at about age 5. So as you states it was still not known; therefore his parents where not informed of the condition and then never followed up again. Neither of his parents have BLEP either so my husband was the first. and now as I mentioned 2 of our three kids have it. Since BLEP was uknown at the time of my husbands birth; when he did have his surgery the doctors tried to create an eyelid fold and it left alot of scaring and was not too succesful. Fastforward to the year 2000 when we had or first son. A Specialist came to the hospital and thats when we got all the answers we never had. Our two sons have had surgery since 2000 as it has been very succesful with no scaring as they use the Sling procedure. Thank you so much for sharing Phx, AZ USA S. Guest guest
Hello all! My son will be 5 mos old and was just recently diagnosed with BPES. He does have really bushy eyebrows - has had them since the day he was born and as his hair darkens, they become more apparent. Perhaps it is related to the condition? Guest guest
Okay I have to agree the bushy eyebrow thing.... it HAS to come with the BPES... I have BPES along with my 2 siblings and we all have the same wacky eyebrows. My father and his brother also have BPES and have the same bushy brows. Its like an added curse! Also, please be careful where you wax, the scars will show!!!> From: Michel <jessicamichel224>> Subject: blepharophimosis Re: Bushy Eyebrows> blepharophimosis> Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008, 1:25 PM> OMG!!!
