Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm 31 and all my life i've had something wrong with my eyes. I had two operations when I was in my early teens to help fix them although we were never really given a name for what was wrong and my family and I thought I was just a one off. WOW....how wrong were we! I never had any reason to look further into it until the 30th of Dec 2007 when I gave birth to my gorgeous daughter Imogen. I was so scared she would have my eyes but everyone told the chances were highly unlikely, once again...how wrong were they! For 5 weeks I searched the internet and finally found Blepharophimosis. When I found it..... I cried my heart out. So hard to believe there is so many of us and I'm not alone. I feel so bad knowing I'm going to have to put my daughter through what I went through, don't get me wrong I'm a confident person but it was hard to grow up with (as you all know). I have so many questions, like - why did I get it when no-one else in my family has it? - will all my kids inherit it? where do I go to discuss surgery for Imogen? and so on..... I'm so happy to have discovered this website and look forward to sharing your journeys and ours.
