Guest guest Posted February 8, 2008 Report Share Posted February 8, 2008 Has anyone had a sling that has broken or dropped? had his sling surgery done on 11/26/2007 and suddenly his right eyelid has totally dropped. In the post- surgery pics and up until yesterday his right eyelid was the highest of the two lids. We live in Chicago but had the surgery done in Philadelphia at CHOP. I have e-mailed pics and gotten a response from his local dr and from Dr. Katowitz at CHOP. We are going in to see his local doctor this afternoon and I cannot speak to a surgical scheduler for Dr. Katowitz until Monday. My question to all of you whom this has happened to how did it happen? Did the sling break spontaneously? I realize that the slings always have a slight risk of coming undone but (to my knowledge) nothing happened to cause it to break (a fall, running into something). I was still living in the celebration mode of his 1st birthday and how well it seems that he can see (no more head tilting) and then bang....we might be back having surgery again which I dread. Thank goodness for great doctors and advice from all of you....I need to gear myself up for his surgery quicker than I anticipated. I posted a picture with his right eyelid now drooping again today under .
