Guest guest
Hi Brittany If you are already pregnant you will have to undergo an amniocentesis test. In addition to the standard “search for birth defects” such as Down Syndrome, the foetal cells in the amniotic fluid will be screened for a FOX L2 mutation (this causes BPES in 2/3rd of all known cases): Here is a link which explains the procedure. An amniocentesis test is not without risk, as it may cause miscarriage, therefore the benefit versus the risk of the test result should be given careful consideration. http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Amniocentesis Here is another interesting article about Genetic Counseling and Prenatal Diagnosis http://health.nytimes.com/health/guides/specialtopic/genetic-counseling-and-prenatal-diagnosis/overview.html All the Best for you, Anja blepharophimosis From: brittany_seslar@...Date: Wed, 31 Dec 2008 20:39:25 +0000Subject: blepharophimosis Testing!
