Guest guest
Machaela: No, it is not that common for a sling to break although it is a risk. Our surgeon explained that with bleph you are trying to strike a balance of making the sling somewhat tight to give the lid more lift above the pupil. But, unfortunately, you are working against the fact that there is no muscle at all to support the sling and gravity pulling it down as well. He feels this time we were able to give lift without it being so tight that the slings will snap and break. So far (2 months post-surgery), it seems like we've gotten a good balance. We are not sure what caused the sling to break nor is our surgeon sure; however, he speculated that the sling may have been pulled too tight. Hope this helps --Anne Weber--Chicago, IL USA --- Machaela Welsh <macster74@...> wrote: > Hi Anne, > I saw the pics that you posted of . It > looks to be really > successful.
