side effects of the sling surgery

Hi my name is ne and my 3 year old son Mehkai has BPES. We went to

see the surgeon yesterday at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He

told us that the sling surgery would cause his eyes to permently(sp)

stay open. This scared us a great deal. I would like some feedback from

parents whose children have had the sling portion of the surgery done

and also any surgeon recommendations would be great. We live in

Illinois but we will travel if necessary. Thank you
