Guest guest
Hi My daughter had her blood tested in Belgium. It was sent off in Oct '06 and we got the result in Feb '07. It just confirms that she has BPES. There is no genetic test to tell which type of BPES is present. We will have to get our daughters hormone levels monitored after puberty to see if they get POF. There details are (I have taken it directly from their letterhead): Centrum voor Medische Genetica, Universitair Ziekenhuis, OK5 - De Pintelaan 185, B-9000, Gent, Belgium. Phone: 09 2403603, Fax 09 2404970. The head of the Department is Prof Anne De Paepe. Web address http:medgen.ugent.be They will do mutation analysis in the FOXL2 gene to confirm the clinical diagnosis of BPES.
