I wanted to follow up regarding my son's first surgery. He had the double z-plasty with silastic slings operation done on Oct. 23rd. He's responded beautifully and my husband and I are amazed at the difference it has made. He is seeing much better now, and no longer tilts his head back to look at things. All of your postings and pictures were so helpful to my husband and I while we were deciding whether or not to go through with the surgery. We're very grateful for all of your support and guidance. We are eager to return the favor ... for anyone who has questions, or is struggling with their own decisions regarding surgery for their child/loved one, please feel free to contact us. We've also added to our photo album entitled "" to include pictures from before and after surgery (1 day post op through 1 month post op). Thanks again and I will keep you posted on 's progress. Regards, Start your day with 7 and win a Sony Bravia TV. Enter now.
Guest guest
Hi Leanne - I saw from your post that you're in NZ? I have just joined this support group and live in Akld, NZ. Where are you?! My son is 16 months old and his Dad had his operations when he was 3 and then 11 but our opthamologist thinks we will do Charlie's at around 3 and 4 years old, depending on the leg muscle growth. It is very interesting reading here the wide range of ages but I guess it also has to do with the range of the condition. Would love to meet up sometime if you were keen?
