Guest guest
Hi - I looked on the Apraxia.cc website and I didn't see anything noted for Monday's CHERUB meeting. I was wondering if it was still on, what location it's at and what the topic is. Thanks! in NJ KDR-1@...
Guest guest
If you are talking about the Portland Area meeting all went great. We had about 8 people show up. Some pre-band, newly banded and some long time banded people show up. I got a lot of good information about getting my next fill. I think I am going to wait awhile longer. Thanks Debbie. Our next meeting is October 23th. They are on the 4th Wed of the month at Lloyd Center food court. I will post a message in early October. - Chris > Hi, > > I'm wondering how the gathering went last night? I had planned on attending > but was bottling tomatos. Guest guest
Dear Cheryl, Do let us know when you are up. Kathy and I have been talking about something once we both get a bit stabilized. She lives aways out of Seattle but with a little finagling, we could probably do it. Hanging out in Seattle, Amy
Guest guest
--- Jill, I can think of 2 things you should take with you when you meet your probation officer. Of course, you MUST consider the source of this advice and ask others if you should take my advice. I'm a guessin the answer will be NO, NO, NO, NO, HELL NO. But I'll give it anyway. 1. Take a copy of the Constitution and remind him/her that on 12/5/33 the 21st Amendment was ratified which repealed the 18th Amendment and the Volstead Act (Prohibition). 2. Take a pair of plyers to pull the stick out of his/her ass when they start talking about the eeeeeeeeeeeeeevils of devil drink. That's what I would do, but then again, I don't have a license to lose Taking my advice just might jepordize your chances. But it is an option if you wish. Guest guest
After I read my post, I decided to start with this. Have you printed out any information from SAMSHA or the National Board of Nurses about how the etg testing should not be used as a reason to take someone's professional license? Dr. Skipper even says that now. He's one of the physicians who brought the test to the US. Especially low positive tests and even medium positive tests can be caused by so many other factors that they didn't know about at first. I emailed all that info to my contact person at the NCBON and I printed it out and mailed it to them. They may have already known it but now they know I know it! And I know they have copies of that info in my file. I don't know all the legalities for all the programs in all the states. I just wanted to say you are in my thoughts and prayers. I had one positive in May and my nursing license (and my life) was suspended( I am in NC and am in a disciplinary program with the NCBON) I have my unrestricted license back now but I still have 16 months left on my contract with the BON)and I was out of work for two weeks due to one positive etg. I, too, did all the things you just said. I had letters of support sent in from my Administrator, my DON, my Supervisor, who works in the same small office with me and others at work, my sponsor and others from my homegroup, my minister and people from my church and people from my community, my life is an open book thanks to recovery. Any way, all tests negative since, I think it was Purell hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes and spray and Tylenol added to some of the others you named, plus testing later in the day for me. Any way, after the letters, lots of info sent to the board about the fallicy of etg testing and other neg tests, I was able to keep my nursing license and go back to work. Two weeks poorer, two weeks behind at work but back to work! I continue to be vigilant and avoid anything I am aware of (but can we ever know)All tests neg since, but it is still like walking a tight rope each time I test. Didn't mean to get into all this but did want to say I hope things will go well for you. It is hard to explain( and I know people here know how it feels) how frustrating it is to be doing everything you can and all that is expected and something like this happen. That is so much beyond our control. I don't know how those of you who keep testing positive despite doing everything imaginable can keep your sanity. You have my utmost respect and you are in my prayers. My biggest hope as I am sure it is everyone's is that the rest of the states will realize the error of their ways with this etg test and stop using it and stop punishing people who have done nothing wrong. As I wrote my representative at the board. If ya'll know anything about alcoholism (and they are supposed to I guess) if I have relapsed it will not just show up as a little bit of etg in my urine. When I relapsed before I crashed and burned within 6 months! I had attempted suicide and was in ICU for 3 days and then on the psyche ward for a week! That's alcoholism! Thanks for listening. Good luck Jill and all. Love, Jackie in NC meeting I am going to talk with my probation monitor at the CSBN on thurs...she has many letters in support of me from all of my co-workers in the ER from the medical director on down to the housekeeping, letters from my sponsor and sponsees and others in the fellowship and a letter from my husband and my sister...those are the people I spend all of my time with...I've had two pos etg test 4/19 and 5/31 1100 and 900...i have not had anymore since then and have not had any in the past three years prior to those, she says that it will go to the attorney general office for a hearing and that she is going to violate me...I have an attorney on standby that was recommended by someone on this site....i have stopped using my hair spray, perfume, spray sunblock, febreeze and stopped taking tylenol which are all the things that were new to my life during that time...i have been tested four times in the last two weeks, i know the first two were neg which tells me that what i stopped was the culprit..hope the tests on thurs and fri are also neg....IS THERE ANYTHING I AM MISSING BEFORE I GO ON THURS????? When do you go? I've forgotten what state you are in, sorry. I'll keep you close in thought & prayer. Guest guest
Sue, we have got to get you feeling better! I wish I could give you some of my spoons! Your stress level is so high right now, I hate what's happening to you. You better keep coming up out of those depths, and absorb the love and support in this forum, you are one of God's beautiful people, and you are going to get better. The meeting went on for over four hours. It was exhausting but our advocate was wonderful and I was composed and put together. They are not ready to give us what Nell needs. We have to do this procedure dance and what they offered was a day school not right for Nell and sort of said "this is what we are offering, or you can have in treatment schools here in Maine, all of which are horror shows. So we have to play the game and go see this place, take our education consultant and Nell to see this place to show we are " playing by the rules". Even though two therapist, her phychiatrist, her ed consultant, her neuropsychologist in his report under reccomendations said she need a kind, loving atmosphere in a therapeutic boarding school. And all those are in either Utah or Arizona. I hate going through this and I hate that Nell is going through this. I hurt everywhere. I am so exhausted all the time. I hate that my husband cooks dinner for us at night because by then I am in too much pain and too tired. I liked cooking for everyone. We don't even eat at the table now because it is too painful for me to sit there. So I will be grateful for Nell and for my body when this is over. Again thank you all for you support. I truly helped. sue
Guest guest
Thank you Liz, I find this group such a support. I also have a DBT therapist and group to help with how I deal with my illness and the huge amount of stress I have in my life. I also have a new Naturopath. She was the doctor that saved the life of my old doctor. My old doctor had four kinds of cancer and Dr. Barter did what the conventional doctors could not. So I have high hopes for our collaboration. I have my second appt. with her tomorrow morning at nine. I also have my horses.{ I did not of course plan on Oliver breaking his leg but with more prayers he will be fine.} They give me such peace and joy. I am working on the stress. Promise.
