A prime example was my best friend in all the world Gayle. She looked and seemed almost perfectly healthy-she had experienced a bout with tb which they said they fixed in 1989. she began to have bouts with asthma and he doc was treating her with inhalers etc but told her he felt a lot of it was stress induced. Last year she collapsed at home-was taken to the hospital and gone within 4 days. The finding was that she was full of cancer-lung,brain,kidney etc. She was really overweight but her docs focused on that too and it was only after she was gone that they admitted that perhaps the tb they had treated was cancer hiding in her lung. It wasn't that she did not try to get medical care-it was that no one paid attention. How sad. He DOES have learning disabilities, although he seems to be getting along well.I havent been writing to the group lately, because there hasnt been much to write about. I live in California, and most of the group seems to live in the UK, so I kinda feel isolated. Is there ANYONE here in the US that can relate to me? I would love to have my nephew meet others with this disorder, but, I cannot finance a trip to London! Any input from anyone?? thank you, from CA.
