Guest guest
Hello all, I just wanted to send a quick update about Hayden's surgery. It was on Tuesday, July 15th at Sick Kid's Hospital in Toronto with Dr. Pashby. The surgery went well and we were sent home that day. Hayden's eyes were great to start, he was able to close them to sleep, he was using his bottom lid to "blink" and keep them moist so everything was going great. We were so disappointed though on Sunday the 20th when his left eye sling came partially undone from the middle of his eyelid to his nose. It looked droopy but there was no apparent cause - we were so careful with him for the whole healing so we scheduled a visit to Dr. Pashby the next morning. He confirmed that it was indeed undone but said to let it heal a bit first before trying to re-sling it. We have another appointment to see him mid-August when we will schedule a new operation to re-lift that lid. It did look so great before it fell that we are planning on doing another operation right away if possible to repair it. I posted some pictures - please have a look. Hayden has been happy through it all. We've had our moments but mostly he is smiling! What a great kid! Thanks for all your emails and concern, Hayden's Mom, Sheryl Burlington, Ontario Canada
