a: I did check into it, but my income is about $1000 too much a year,

what a laugh ($23,000) and I am too rich...... My husband has recently

started to work only 20 hrs a week so maybe I should try again. Thanks for

the input. I can't tell you how well I did on that, it was like a miracle.

Maybe I should cut out some others drugs and just take that.....big decision.

Yes Jan, I remember you saying that now. Please try again since your income

has unfortunately changed. If you get dramatic results again, your doctor

may want to review your meds and make sure Arava is first on your shopping

list. Sorry you have to pick and choose.

Dear Tess: Maybe I should move to the Northwest for help............... I

even have Pernicious Anemia and get B-12 shots every month. With what is going

on at my company(three more managers laid off before closing with more to come),

I will be looking for a retirement spot sooner. My doctors have always given me

that " If you would lose the weight, you wouldn't have the problems " . Didn't

they realize that the weight came on with the pain and stiffness and all? I

used to be very active. I am in much more of a positive frame now and have been

searching the internet to find a Rheumy that will take both Blue Cross and

Champus. So far not much luck but will keep going. I haven't had to file

claims with Champus for years and would prefer a doctor that can do both if

there is such an animal out there. When I had to file claims years ago for both

of them, I used to really mess them up and this while I worked for ten years for

Blue Cross. Last year, the Blue Cross I had(out of Virginia) really messed up

on my claims and it's taken me a year but I hung in there and finally was able

to get through to a supervisor and was able to get him to see to reason that

they owed me almost $80 and he has had the check drafted and it's on it's way to

me. In a past life, I might have given up, but every dollar I put out on my

medical is important to me and hey, that $80 could pay for medicine that is not

on the formulary at the Naval Hospital and has no generic.

Thank you Tess, Carol, Kathe and all the others for your kind words to help me

through a tough spot. I think I have regained my sanity and will do what I have

to do and leave that dr in the dust as soon as I am able to get help elsewhere.

Your support means all the world to me. With much love and prayers, Jan +/:=)

experience with medical

people. You deserve SO much better!!! I pray you find a kind and

competent medical team to help you. You know, for a long time I had no

obvious swelling or joint damage, but lots of pain, stiffness, terrible

fatigue, a high sed rate and anemia. I was told by some Dr's that it

was " my weight " . Sheesh.

Sending you much love & many gentle hugs.

Thanks for the information . I'll look that medication up. I haven't

heard of that one before. You would think that my rheumatologist would help

with some suggestions but all he said when I told him I was starting Rebif for MS

was "oh that's too bad because thats an interferon and it interfers with the RA meds"

Hi Jan, Have you tried the new medication named Humira? It is FDA approved for both MS and RA.

Take care,

Hi Jan, When did you last see your rheumy? I think Humira was FDA approved either right before or right after Christmas. Visit www.humira.com.
