Guest guest
Were your beginning pictures April 2nd?? And your current ones today? If so, 19 days isn't much time to see a major physical change. You might want to only take pictures once a month or less so that there's time to see a difference between the pictures. I do see that you've lost some of the dreaded back fat. Everybody loses there early on but nobody notices it... I guess because it's behind you. It also looks like your hips have dropped a little. Are you doing tape measurements? Hang in there. If you're down 25 pounds, you're definitely heading in the right direction. > i just added my april 20th pics, i still see no progress, i know my > workouts are not anything really, due to lack of equipment, i really > want to put my all into this challenge but its hard not seeing a > physical change, scale says i weigh 25 lbs less, but i dont see > possibly how, but ill keep trucking along hopefull i can find some > equipment soon,! or borrow some,, something!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > > keep going everyone! great advice!!!! great pepole!! Guest guest
Trisha- - please do not minimize your workouts; that's just another way of putting yourself down - how wonderful that you are working on finding a way to work out, despite limited equipment - www.freecycle.org is a great way to pick up additional equipment - I would say that it's probably ok to take photos less often; every 6 weeks would be a possibility, or even after 12 weeks - the files from this group have lots of exercises to do at home or when you travel; you can also surf for ideas; let us know if you need any - as I understand it, you started on April 1st and you're dissatisfied because you don't see the results - you're doing wonderfully; relax; it takes time - regardless of whether or not your scale is giving you accurate info on the 25# oss, remember the paper towel theory - you can read about it here: http://www.hussmanfitness.org/html/TSMeasuringProgress.html - other ways of seeing progress - how are you feeling about the 5-6 meals a day? How are you feeling about the food? How are you progressing with your non-body-related goals? Have a great weekend and let us know how you're doing n At 05:50 AM 4/21/2006, you wrote: >i just added my april 20th pics, i still see no progress, i know my >workouts are not anything really, due to lack of equipment, i really >want to put my all into this challenge but its hard not seeing a >physical change, scale says i weigh 25 lbs less, but i dont see >possibly how, but ill keep trucking along hopefull i can find some >equipment soon,! or borrow some,, something!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > >keep going everyone! great advice!!!! great pepole!! Guest guest
Trisha - what do you mean, your " non-body goals are totally shot " ? You're only 3 weeks into this lifestyle. Perhaps they need to be re-evaluated, but I wouldn't 'write them off' - they are a very impt part of the process - eg - I gave myself an assignment of working on a certain project everyday; that wasn't realistic, and weeks/months went by without my doing anything on the project; then I re-evaluated and assigned myself one hour per weekend for the project - and, within a couple of weeks I am within distance of being FINISHED! - it isn't about hoping and trying - it's about doing - the pieces won't 'fall into place' - you're gonna have to do it - I am not a fan of shakes and bars; I advocate real food for long-term success - I forgot about the twins! What a great time you'll have with them while you're learning about yourself. I wish I had known how to eat and move and nurture myself when my kids were little, instead of back-burnering my needs - I'm sorry - I don't remember your specifics; why are you limited to curls and chest presses? I mean, why can't you do the other muscle groups? - what do you do for cardio? n At 08:42 PM 4/21/2006, you wrote: >ive been trying to find weights on freecycle and groups like it for over a >year now, but i always get passed up, as to workouts its hard when all i >can do is curls and chest presses, using my bar, and my non body goals are >totally shot, i hope and try but nothing yet, hopefully soon i will have >some type of breakthrough, as for food, im fine with the foods, shakes, >bars , etc... no porblems just trying to fit 5-6 a day in while tending to >the twins is tough i try my best though, like i said before im very >determined and have my mind set for this, i just need the pieces to start >falling into place for me, then i feel i will be doing great > > thank you for the advice and encouragement

Guest guest
Ahh - you're juggling a lot Take babysteps and you'll get where you want to go - this applies to the food and the exercise and the non-body stuff. Break it down to small manageble tasks, and you'll feel success and then motivation. Guest guest
You lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks? HOLY CRAP, I'D HOLD A FREAKING PARADE!!! Here, let me do what I'm good at, I'm going to grab your shoulders and shake, your head will bob around like a cartoon character's! You're doing SO GOOD! And don't forget, you're losing all that marbeling inside your muscles and organs. You know, the stuff that would make you taste good if like a dinosaur ate you or something. And, here's how to make a no weight workout hurt: do it slower, especially on the release. Oh, and do you do squats for your legs? How about doing 10, 20, 30, then 40? I guarantee you'll be walking funny. And walking lunges, 24 per set, 3 sets. And you might topple over like I do, but whatever, your legs will get such a great workout. Hold a gallon of milk or one of your precious twins and squat down, twist to one side and lift that child when you come up. Do that 10 each side, then 20 each side, then 30 each side. Things will hurt that you can't even imagine. Better yet, save those gallons and fill them with water and use them for curls, kickbacks (ow!), skull crushers. Add more water as you need to. You can do deadlifts with babies or gallons of water. Sand is cheap and weighs more than water... fill those jugs with that when the water is too light. Overhead press those jugs. Have different jugs with more or less sand/water/etc. Do pushups, as many as you can to start. That's good for chest/arms. Here, go to this site to find some non-weight, bodyweight only stuff: http://sparkpeople.com/myspark/ex/exercises.asp?ID=140 When we want something this bad, we figure out ways to keep the muscles burning. ;-) Squeeze at the top, as Bill says. Take care! You're doing fantastic. Jami
