Guest guest
is another one of those children who regularly develops cellulitis from mosquito (or ant) bites. The infection will go into her lymph nodes and causes alot of problems. It starts just as you described, Ray. We immediately begin our bite protocol now of cortisone cream, aloe vera gel, and antihistamine. We also try cold compresses (warm compresses are something we havent tried before but I will run this by our dr--sounds like it could help). This all helps to make more comfortable, and sometimes prevents the cellulitis we've come to dread. It seems almost inevitable though that she will end up on antibiotic treatment for each bite. We went through a period when she was developing periorbital cellulitis of the left eye regularly , in her second year. It was before we knew she had pids, and perhaps was not treated agressively enough. I hope Duncans bite does not develop in cellulitis. Oh, Dales suggestion of marking the red border is a good idea too. It does help gauge how the area is progressing.
