Guest guest
Sounds interesting. My brown eye has a pie slice of blue otherwise it looks solid brown to me. It's in the upper part and my eyelid usually covers it so people usually don't see it. Oddly, showing them the blue part seems to freak people out even those who thought the different colored eyes were 'cool'. There's a picture of my eyes in the photos folder. As for the eye color being different, the twin was a brown eyed fraternal twin..Yum. It's a play on the concept that occasionally a twin absorbs another twin. My left eye is blue with brown streaks in it, so sometimes it looks brown, sometimes greenish, and other times--if the sun hits it right-- its orangey. I dont know how eating your unborn twin would change your eyecolor, but ok...

Guest guest
Hey ation, Welcome to the group sugar. Congratulations on getting the band, I know you're so happy about it. How hard was it to talk your parents into that? When I was16 I weighed 360 pounds, I begged my parents for gastric bypass and they wouldnt hear of it. I even had my doctor trying to talk them into it. My life to this point would have been so very different if they'd had taken the chance and let me have it. I know it was a hard decision for them but they made the right one. You have your whole life ahead of you and now you'll be able to really live it. Congrates again sugar. Guest guest
, Welcome! We are glad you found your way here. I was banded 2/9/04 and have lost about 60 since surgery and 100 overall. The band is the best thing I ever did for myself and only wish it was around when I was younger (I am 44). You are the only young person I have heard of (under 18) that has had the band. I do have a friend whose daughter is considering it. Can you share more what made you decide to go this route? Guest guest
, Welcome to the crew. Congratulations on a good decision by yourself and your parents. We have a bandster in our local group who was banded last year at 14. He is doing great and has grown about five inches as well as losing a good bit of weight. He is in the marching band at school so he really feels better with the weight off. Keep posting to let us know how you are doing and to ask questions as you need. Can you tell us more about your height, weight, who did the band, and so forth? Do you have any local people with bands? My website tells more about me and my banding adventures. Guest guest
Hi Becky! I was on the road for two days coming back from Florida and couldn't post. I had spent time trying to rest and get better. Going from very warm weather to very cold here in Northern Michigan was hard. I am glad to be back with my clan though. Sorry you are sick, it is awful this time of year. Even with all my meds (maxed out) I had to use the nebulizer last night and had some sort of allergic reaction to it. Very odd. My nose got plugged off and ran at the same time, my eyes watered and itched. I used my gentamycin nasal wash and took an extra atarax and went to bed miserable. It is gone this morning thank goodness. I hope you feel better soon and we all adjust to the season change without serious illness. Guest guest
Oh no, your poor thing! I like the idea of the hot water bottle - inspired, especially great if it opens up the sinuses. I went to the doctors today and came home with a bag full of nose drops, asthma puffers, antibiotics and prednisolone. Hopefully that should help sort me out! Get well soon :-} Becky xchristine alexandrou <christinealexandrou@...> wrote: Bl--dy awfull Youre not alone-from a pleasant 26 degrees one day to 12 degrees the next due to the Siberian( ) winds- I have a cold and my nose is very sore- Feels like 'Skiers nose' some kind of catalogued rhinitis-also my relationship with monsoon type rains gets my nose going -why dont they have 'Monsoon nose' too? Guest guest
Hi Trudy, Thanks for your reply, I did wonder where you had gone!! I should be ok. Went to the docs today and got my medicines - should keep me going! Also had the flu jab this year. I haven't had it before because have been either pregnant or breastfeeding, or just too chicken! Don't know what i was worried about because I feel ok (so far). Medicine can work in strange ways - betnesol nose drops are supposed to really help calm down rhinitis but makes mine 10 times worse for about 1hour after putting them in. The things we do!! You can't treat it with plain bloodstream electrification like Beck etc taught. It has to be combined or it will not work as well. bG > Brand new here to this concept. I went down to the Seligman Center and I saw a Doctor named Soumya Reddy, I did some research, she specializies in PA. If she wasnt so far for me I would go down there. Guest guest
I guess I wasn't specific enough. I'm frustrated by not being able to find support groups/other people who have PA to talk to. That's why I was excited to find this group yesterday. I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with PA. What I thought was knee trouble turned out to be more than that and thank goodness my chiropractor thought of it and mentioned seeing a rheumatologist. I have had very minor psoriasis all my life, which got worse in the past few years. Still, it's minor, so I was surprised when I was told I had PA. I love my rheumatologist. She's out of the Hospital for Joint Diseases here in NYC and I think she's great. Right now, apparently, my PA is pretty minor, which is good, but it is progressing quickly. I've noticed, just in the past six months, the pain getting worse each month and the fatigue is killing me. That's probably the worst part right now, getting so tired so easily. It's terribly frustrating to not be able to do the things I used to do. Also, I do notice that my immune system is not as good as it used to be. I get sicker easier and it knocks me down for longer. You asked about my medical regimens...my doctor has been trying different things. I see her every 1-2 months and she changes things each time. I'll see her next week actually and there will probably be more changes. Right now I take Mobic (for the pain) twice every day, but it's not really helping much. However, it is better than not taking anything at all, so I guess that's something. I also take Plaquenil every day (I think it's 400mg). And, once a week I take 15g of Methotrexate. I added folic acid every day to help with the fatigue and it's a bit better. Next week, when I see my doctor I'm going to talk to her about Enbrel. I don't know if it's right for me, but I do know that I thought I'd notice some improvement after all this and it's just not going like I'd hoped. I'm glad you guys are here. It'll help to have people to talk to and ask questions of. I did have a question about diet. Is there a particular diet that has helped people? Low carb? Low sugar? Anything at all. I know I need to exercise more often, but the fatigue tends to keep me from doing what I ened to do. I'm hopign maybe if I get more energy from food then maybe I'll be able to get off my butt and work out like I know I need to. Thanks! -Paris > Welcome Paris, > > > > You have defiantly come to the right place. > > > > Becky > > Age 45 > > Elko, NV > > _____ > > From: > [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Paris Abell > Sent: Monday, September 12, 2005 10:31 AM > > Subject: [ ] Hello! > > > > Hello all!
