Guest guest
Hi My daughter Sam is 4 years old and will be going next week for her to have surgery. This time around they are going to be replacing the slings with the muscle for her leg. I have never heard of a surgeon having to wait due to irratation under the skin from the sling. I was wondering if you had any signs that something was wrong? I too am worried about my little girl being scared of what is going on around her, I think this is normal for us moms to feel that way. Good luck! The surgeon is having to take out her slings and leave them out for three weeks because apparently there is a bit of an irratation under her skin due to the sling on the right eye. he is then putting new slings in once the area has healed. has anyone else ever heard of this happening?> > im feeling a lot better about this surgery than i did last time when she was only 11 weeks old, as i know her eyesight is ok. i am worried though that she will be scared as she is such a clued up little girl.> > > > ------------------------------------> >
Guest guest
Hi , thanks for replying to me, i accidently pressed send before i got chance to finish my message. They noticed that something was not quite right with her right eye as she kept getting 'boil like' lumps and swelling under her forehead. you could see the silicone rod all inflamed underneath. it comes and goes but just recently she has been getting these problems almost every few days now, this is why they have decided to remove the slings and put new ones in. she is also having the inner corners done at the same time. im so anxious today but i know it is for her own good as she bumps into things such a lot due to her not being able to see at the side of her like other kids, she has to turn her head to see. my surgeon has suggested sticking to silicone rods for the rest of her life as he believes it is a good thing and is convinced she wont have any more problems with it. im not so sure so i think i am considering what your little girl is having done, the muscle from the leg. i think that will be in a few years time. Has anyone out there had surgery done by Mr Parulekar at Birmingham Childrens Hospital in the UK? if so i would love to know how you got on.... Thanks so much (Laceys Mom)x > > > Hi > > My daughter Sam is 4 years old and will be going next week for her to have surgery.
