" If I look like a chinese, rather learn chinese to be a real one !" I think he's right ! And speaking chinese will surely help him later ... Tonikka, I was like you when Valentin was a little boy, feeling defensive, thinking that everybody was looking at him...But now he's grown up, I changed my mind and I ( nearly) don't worry anymore.... I know he has a beautiful mind, that his eyes are not so important, that he can have friends and be happy like everyone, even with that "strange" face... I trust him, he's clever and funny, he can do it. .. I hope it will be like that for your son too... I see what you are talking about Instantly, I never notice it.. but the second we meet new people I feel the questions even if they are never asked, or if someone looks at him for a split second to long I instantly feel defensive..... Its the craziest thing...my son has a new friend that is really awesome, and makes my son feel included, my son is in grade 8 (junior high) and kids can be cruel but this young man he has befriended has made a way to make it funny and then make it ok.. at first my son was not sure how to take it but now he loves it because I told him its actually a good thing...Some kids kept asking my son if he was asian or part... he is actually 1/2 jamaican but has bleach blonde hair and blue eyes.. but we have gotten the "is he asian" question for 12 years.. as I am sure has many other BPES kidlets... so this new friend of Lyndens is Asian and always says to any kids that want to start to bully.. he says "hey leave my asian brother from another mother alone" Anyways, BPES.... WHAT THE HECK IS THAT???? my child is just my child...
