Hi, I think its because the connection we have with our children is based on emotion, love, and feeling. Also we 'see' so much more than what is presented to us. Because we are growing and teaching them, loving and expriencing them as our children.

When we look at others with BPES, the first thing we 'see' is physical, its like a lot of my friends that have known me for a long time say to me, but you are just Clare, we dont 'see' you as anthing other than clare - its because they know me and who i am under what I look like.

When you look at your own flesh and blood your son or daughter and see no syndrome etc.....BUT when you see other people you can "see" it..... Or is it just me When I see my Tailynn I see her and nothing eles... when I see other girls like her almost Identical it baffles me how I can see the eyes in a diffrent way then my own daughter???? ?.......

I see what you are talking about Instantly, I never notice it.. but the second

we meet new people I feel the questions even if they are never asked, or if

someone looks at him for a split second to long I instantly feel defensive.....

Its the craziest thing...

my son has a new friend that is really awesome, and makes my son feel included,

my son is in grade 8 (junior high) and kids can be cruel but this young man he

has befriended has made a way to make it funny and then make it ok.. at first my

son was not sure how to take it but now he loves it because I told him its

actually a good thing...

Some kids kept asking my son if he was asian or part... he is actually 1/2

jamaican but has bleach blonde hair and blue eyes.. but we have gotten the " is

he asian " question for 12 years.. as I am sure has many other BPES kidlets... so

this new friend of Lyndens is Asian and always says to any kids that want to

start to bully.. he says " hey leave my asian brother from another mother alone "

Anyways, BPES.... WHAT THE HECK IS THAT???? my child is just my child...
