Guest guest
Neither me nor my daughter has heart irregularities, we both have bpes. My dad is 68 and has bpes, he has heart issues related to cholesterol and triglycerides, and he had EXTENSIVE tests on his heart, never has had an issue with heart rhythms, valves, etc., It's possible to have two unrelated issues, (I hope in your case you have just bpes). For example, my daughter has bpes, and also juvenile diabetes, the two are totally unrelated. Good signs about the surgical records, that there wasn't anything unusual showing. My husband's mother is a nurse and suggested that maybe it could be related to her Blepharophimosis? I don't think this could be the case as I am sure I doctors would have examined this years ago. They only checked it now because of a medication that she was going to be taking to control her ADHD. Has anyone else experienced any sort of heart defects or abnormalities that the doctors associated with the Bleph?I am holding confidence that the test is wrong and my beautiful daughter is fine and trying to put my mind at ease until we see the dr on Tuesday. It would be hard to imagine that if she in fact has had heart irregularities as they are suggesting they would have not been noticed during the handful of surgeries she has had. I contacted her dr's who performed the surgeries and he pulled the cardiac paper from her file and he said he sees nothing abnormal on them. Anyone with insight or experienced anything similar please respond!
Guest guest
Hi Dana, My son is 2, and has both BPES and a heart murmur. The doctors think the two are not related. His murmur was only recently detected, and it's a 'functional' murmur, meaning it will not affect him negatively. His heart just beats a little differently. So take heart in knowing that even if your daughter does have a heart issue, that it could be completely benign. Chances are that if it was serious, it would have been detected years ago, as you suggested. Please keep us posted, and I'll keep your daughter in our prayers. Guest guest
Hi Dana, The exact thing happened to my son, he was diagnosed at age 6 or so, from ekg because of adhd meds. He was sent to a cardiologist and I was told he had a murmur with mild back flow of blood on echo. He also has occasional irregular heartbeats and is now on atenolol which is controlling him very well. I know this is scarey-I have been there, but my son's heart issue is not " serious " I hope and pray that your son's is the same. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your responses. I appologize that I didn't update sooner, but time got away from me. We met with the Pediatric Cardiologist who did a chest xray, another EKG, and Echocardiogram. The EKG again showed abnormal, but her echo and chest xray were both normal!! Dr said she is just quirky and I will take that!! It was a horribly scary situation, but thankfully everything is fine!! Thanks everyone!! > > Good Afternoon All! > > My daughter had an EKG done the other day and it came back abnormal and we are to see a Pediatric Cardiologist on Tuesday.
