Inday From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> Subject: [ ] Living with CML " CML " < > Date: Sunday, 8 February, 2009, 12:20 PM Dear Inday, You asked if we were a patient or a supporter. That is a good question, because we are a mixed bag of both. I think it would be a good idea for everyone to post a note to let Inday and her husband know how long we have been acquainted with CML. I am a CML survivor. I was diagnosed over twelve years ago and have been in 5 different trials. I truly believe that I am here today because of support groups who helped me get over the rough spots and gave me hope. I have met in person quite a few of the people that I first met online and we are still buddies. We have other things to talk about besides CML, because now we know we can live a truly blessed life even with CML. Guest guest
hi , I am truly thankful to be in this group. I know it would make me more stronger for my husband and my family. God Bless! Guest guest
Hey Inday, I am a supporter, caregiver to my Granny. It may not help your husband to hear someone tell him this , but I truly feel that everything that happens to us, is for a reason. We don't always know " Why', but when you are able to look back at things, it seems you can always see why. I don't know why Granny came down with this. But, I do know that it has taught me a lot. I have personally grown. My father died 14 years ago with a brain aneurysm and he was my Granny's only son. I just know that if he were still here, it would be my mother and my daddy mostly taking care of Granny. I have become so close to her and I have gotten to see how strong my Granny is and I envy her alot and wonder if I would have the strength she has. I know she tries to hide alot from me. She is doing good this week. We take one day at a time. Anyway, make your hubby get out and LIVE life to the fullest. Guest guest
Dear , I am so glad you wrote and reminded me of what my life has been like since my diagnosis, as a reminder. I, too was terrified and had a doctor from hell. I changed doctors in a hurry and learned all I could. I didn't have the internet, but I used my telephone and called doctors and researchers all over the country. They even asked how I found them. LOL. There are so many people to thank for their support, but like you, have found ways to deal with CML and it's sometimes scary side effects. The thing I worry about most is infections and I have a bad track record for them. I have 5 sons who are all out on their own (and I don't want any of them moving back in again) LOL. When I look at our picture of 5 generations, I feel I am truly blessed and expecting another great grandchild next month. Even though I am mostly inactive because of back pain, there is still joy in life, friendships, holidays and yes, humor, too. I am thankful for the fellowship I receive here as well. Blessings and prayers to everyone, Lottie
