Hi , How terrible for everyone, it is hard to believe that a person would

deliberately start those fires knowing the damage and heartache that follows.  I

was in California a couple of years ago after the fires and it was devastating

just to see the burned land, without even knowing who was hurt or who had died.

My friend lost her home, it was terrible. I am so sorry your daughter lost her

pony, and sorry for all the others animals hurt or killed in the fires.  That is

the tragedy of arson, the poor animals that cannot help themselves.

On a much happier note, congratulations on the pcru, that is great news.

I would like to try Tasigna, Dr. Talpaz does not think it will work because of

the mutations, so right now I'm stuck with XL228 infusions, which I should not

complain about, it seems to be keeping me in ccr.

I will put your family in my prayers, and also pray the fires are brought under

control and they get the maniac who started them.  Blessings, Bobby

Hi everyone,

Well I have mixed news to report - great for me..after 5 months of Tasigna

800mg I got the great news I am PCRU! To say I am thrilled is an

understatement! !!! I was diagnosed in July 07 on my 50th birthday and

couldn't tolerate Glivec and had many breaks. Tasigna has been a breeze with

no side effects what so ever. We had a few celebratory bottles of champers

on Friday night.

The bad news is where I live has had the worse fires in our history

with extreme heat and severe winds. The temperature was over 50C yesterday

(the thermometer couldn't go any higher, however it was 48C in the shade! We

are fortunate that the closest fire was 40km away, we had a few scares the

week earlier with temps in high 40's and an arsonist running around lighting

fires!

Over 50 people are dead and there are communities where they still can't get

into and multiple severe burns coming in as people can get down mountains

etc, it is truly a severe and desperate situation. My youngest has gone down

to assist with our local fire brigade on the other side of our state, so I

will be happy when he comes home safely.

Then today my daughter rang up in a panic as her 10 year old beloved pony

was found with snake bite and had to support him for 2 hours waiting for the

vet to come and sadly had to put him down. It was sad and tragic, but in

perspective we were lucky as whole pony studs have been wiped out and other

people in fire areas have poor ponies and horses with severe burns (those

that survived) who can't get vets to humanely put them down.

Saturday will go down as Black Saturday in our history.

Regards,

Congrats on your cell news. I'm so sorry to hear about the fires. Living in So

California we understand- we have lost whole communities in years past. My

prayers go out to everyone in Oz including the ponies, horses and animals -whom

I love.

Hi Chi - thank you so much. Yes I have seen on the news the devastating

fires in Californa too. I know it is a tragedy for we humans, but the poor

animals are suffering so much too.

The response over here has been extraordinary with so many goods being sent

down and for pets, horses etc too. Our major veterinary hospital is

providing free care for animals burnt/injured and the wildlife carers are

still waiting to get in to find injured wildlife.
