Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well I have mixed news to report - great for me..after 5 months of Tasigna 800mg I got the great news I am PCRU! To say I am thrilled is an understatement!!!! I was diagnosed in July 07 on my 50th birthday and couldn't tolerate Glivec and had many breaks. Tasigna has been a breeze with no side effects what so ever. We had a few celebratory bottles of champers on Friday night. The bad news is where I live has had the worse fires in our history with extreme heat and severe winds. The temperature was over 50C yesterday (the thermometer couldn't go any higher, however it was 48C in the shade! We are fortunate that the closest fire was 40km away, we had a few scares the week earlier with temps in high 40's and an arsonist running around lighting fires! Over 50 people are dead and there are communities where they still can't get into and multiple severe burns coming in as people can get down mountains etc, it is truly a severe and desperate situation. My youngest has gone down to assist with our local fire brigade on the other side of our state, so I will be happy when he comes home safely. Then today my daughter rang up in a panic as her 10 year old beloved pony was found with snake bite and had to support him for 2 hours waiting for the vet to come and sadly had to put him down. It was sad and tragic, but in perspective we were lucky as whole pony studs have been wiped out and other people in fire areas have poor ponies and horses with severe burns (those that survived) who can't get vets to humanely put them down. Saturday will go down as Black Saturday in our history. Regards,
