Guest guest
, I agree, a year is an awful long time to have to deal with anything. Apparently for immunosuppressed people, it can last up to 4 years!!!! God help me! Bobby, the spots aren't itchy and don't hurt but they aren't pretty either. The problem happens when she scratches (even though they aren't itchy, she can't seem to help herself and still scratches). She seems to be a breading ground for staph so in no time she's got a bunch of them infected. Thankfully she doesn't have any on her face (yet). Lottie, you're stronger than a bull! I can't imagine going through all that you've been through. You've got more lives than a cat! , did you not have chicken pox as a child or when your kids were kids? In any case, I've been treating my daughter like the leper, even doing her laundry with gloves on! The poor kid knows it's not personal but this is certainly going to go down in our memories as the year of the pox. Marcos, I haven't read anywhere about Acyclovir being used for molluscum contagiosum (everytime I write that I think it's a joke, it just sounds too funny.....reminds me of when I first heard of C- Difficile....anyone who speaks French would know that C-Difficile translated means " very difficult " , now how can you not laugh at the appropriateness of a superbug bacteria called very difficult). In any case, most of the information I've read seems to downplay the virus as being more of a nuisance than a medical threat. There isn't any standard treatment and it seems that doctors recommend to be patient as the virus runs its course....easy for them to say, they don't have to look like mutant freaks for an entire year (or more). I did read on one website that Tea Tree Oil can help so I bought her some of that. Let me just say that I had no idea how bad that stuff stinks! No wonder it's supposed to kill viruses, bacteria and fungus, nothing can survive the smell! We've got one month down, only 11 more to go...groan.
