Dear Eva,

Carolyn is right, we all have our ups and downs and having CML for a long

time does not exclude you, but we just don't freak out as often. LOL. First you

have to have faith in yourself and next in your doctor. You will not learn

everything you need to know in a year or even five, it is an ongoing process and

the more you know, the better treatment you will get.

If you feel your doctor is not really interested in you because they don't know

that much about CML, then we have to do our homework. I must be a slow learner

because it took me a long, long time to figure out my doctor was not as smart as

he wanted me to believe. Now he avoids me. LOL

I get more information from my support group than from a whole slew of doctors.

I was talking CML talk to my dermatologist, as he always inquires as to how I am

doing. He looked at me and smiled and said, " You must know I have no idea of

what you are talking about. Maybe I knew it at one time, but I concentrate on

diseases of the skin. " He was humble enough to admit it, but some doctors

insist on treating you for things that are beyond their scope.

The only way I learn is by repititon and if I keep hearing what I need to hear

long enough, it will sink in. While I was thinking that I am stupid, it came to

me that I wasn't stupid, I just hadn't learned it yet. Hang in there Eva, you

have made giant strides from 1 year ago. The light is always on here.

Blessings and looking forward to a great spring,

Lottie
