Hello good CML Buddies.

I recieved an invitation to attend a Patient Advisory Board or patients on

second line treatment for CML in Houston April 24-26. The invitation says they

pay air fare and room and board. They want to hear from patients about how to

identify educationl needs. I assume they got informtion from my oncologist --

that I was on tasigna.

I have two requests for this group: #1 Did any of you taking tasigna get this?

Do you plan to go? and#2. What would you like me to communicate to the group

in this area? I plan to take them up on the offer.

Blessings and good things to all us survivors...

Dear Barb,

No I did not get what you got. I sure wish I did. I would go.

Wow how exciting.

I will think about what I want you to ask and get back to you.

Aloha Sharon

Hi Barbara: I have been on Gleevec since day 1 which was in 2000, but I

think thats great that your going to go for this program. I am sure it will

help a lot of people to learn more.

God Bless You

Thanks Suzzie. Would you have any questions about anything you want me to ask?

I plan a report back to the group when I return.

Thanks Sharon. Write me in an email with your questions. Sometimes life takes

over and I don't check these sites as much as I should.

Peace

Hey its awesome that you are going to that conference to be a part of having a

voice on second line treatment for patients.  What they really need is the

" patient's own voice " and that is really cool that they are taking you up on

hearing your voice since you have the real " experience " on taking the drug

Tasigna.

What I would like to know in case Fonse does not respond one day to Gleevec and

may have to resort to Tasigna is:  1. How does Tasigna target the cancer cells

in the body?  2.  How does one feel while taking Tasigna i.e. run down,

swelling, moody, etc.?  3.  Is Tasigna being considered for long-term treatment

for Leukemia remission? and 4.  Is Tasigna being currently studied for use to

treat other types of cancer ie breast, myelomas, gist, etc.???

I know those are alot of questions, so if they are too many you can consolidate

or choose one.  I am a writer so I get a  little wordy.  Lots of hugs.  Judy and

Fonsie
