Severe bone/joint/muscle pain

Hello everyone,

I was Dx with CML May 29,08.I started on 400mg Gleevec then

advanced to 600mg Gleevec.I have alot of side effects.My current one

bothering me the most right now is Bone/joint/muscle pain.I have

swelling and such severe pain in my little fnger that I actually

thought I broke it.Went for xrays but it isn't broke..My entire body

just aches.Where ever you touch it hurts.Arms.legs and back worse

areas.

Here are my current CBC results and a few other labs that came back

abnormal.

Total white blood count is 6.9 up from 3.5 two weeks ago

Neutrophiles 4.7 up from 2.9 two weeks ago

Lympocytes 2.0 up from 1.3

Monocytes 0.2 up from 0.1

Hemoglobin 10.9 up from 10.5

Hematocrit 31.8 up from 30.3

Platelets 338 up from 270

My total protein level is low at 5.3

Globulin is low at 1.6

my ALT/SGPT is High at 58 (what does this mean?)

Ionized Calcium is high at 4.8

Ferritin is 142

I have such pain it feels like I have broken bones.Is this a normal

side effect from Gleevec? I have had to do iron infusions a few times

and it seems my pain level is higher when my hemoglobin drops below

12.I beg for more infusions as it helps control my pain level when my

hemoglobin is higher.I currently take M.S.Contin every 12 hours and

Norco every 3-4 hours.I am still in extreme pain even with daily

heavy narcotics.I have been on this pain meds for years prior to CML

and was helping with the pain it was perscribed for

(hips,back,knees).Since my Dx it isn't helping much it seems however

I wouldn't want to miss even one dose as I am in such pain with the

meds I can't imagine what I would be like without the meds.I see my

Onc today.Any ideas?
