Guest guest
Hey all, Haven't posted in a while but I do read all of your posts at least 3 times a day from my phone. Wow we have alot of newbies, boy have they come to the right place! It is nearly 2 years for me since dx. I am not at PCRU yet but my quality of life is awesome!!! I go to the gym every day (this is what saves me from the dreadful fatigue) and stay mega busy with my 4 children and 2 grandchildren. My most annoying side effect is the runny left eye which always leaves me with one eye made up and the other not!!!! I haven't posted on the weight loss site in forever but I am maintaining my weight, from working out 5-6 times a week. I had a tooth out last week and it was really ironic that this was the very subject you all were discussing!!! I was sedated and it all went well. I finally am at peace with my illness and it has made me a better person and I really do enjoy every day!! Thank you for getting me thru the bad times. Love you all!!! Donna Berry x > > Hello everyone. I am . On Friday 03/20/2009 my 18 yo daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia, and the definitive diagnoses came today and it is CML. They are going to start her on Gleevic, today I think. After some browsing there is an overwhelming amount of information out there and lots of it good to read and lots of it also scary to read. So I will start simple. It looks like PCRU is something good, with that said, what is PCRU. > > Thank you, > >

Guest guest
Hi , Great news. I missed your first post as I was skiing. I was dx 4 years ago at age 38 with about the same numbers that you daughter (wbc 250) and it took 2-3 weeks for the gleevec to start lowering the wbc, but then it just floored, 250, 32 and 6 at 1 week intervals. It took a couple of months to feel stronger and to get used to the geevec, now I am pretty much back to normal, working full time (I took only a couple of weeks sick leave), diving, climbing, skiing. The first months can be a little rough, both physically and mentally, but hang in there, things should get better. Cheers, Marcos.
