Guest guest
Hi: I am not usually on here this late, but I see you just posted a message regarding your daughter having CML. You came to the right place. Just remember she was just diagnosed. They will try to get her to remission with the Gleevec, and it usually works fast in most cases. I was diagnosed in 1998, and Gleevec was not available. I did not start on it till Oct. of 2000, and I was in remission in July of 2001. We have a very good group member named Trey, and he can explain things so much more simpler for you than I can, but PCRU is when you get back a zero reading, and they cannot see any cancer cells in your PCR test. I assume your daughter has had a Bone Marrow Biopsy so they can determine at what stage she is in etc. I went for a normal blood test, and that is how they found my CML. I did not have any real symptoms. They ran additional blood work on me, and then I had the BMB before they started my treatment. I do not want to get you all confused with lots of information. I am sure the Oncologist is explaining things to you and your family. Watch the postings back to you, and you will get a lot of responses I am sure during the week. I hope the little bit of information I gave you helped.
