Have you tried taking it at night to sleep through the side effects? That's

how I take it.

I just saw a new hematologist. He advised me to divide my Gleevec into two

doses of 200 mg each and take one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. to try to

head off side effects (acute depression lasting about 4-5 hours a day and

excessive sleepiness). Has anyone had any success beating side effects of

any sort by this method? Just curious. I'm game for anything that works!

Yeah, that's what I've been doing up to now. But the next day around 11 a.m. the

most horrible depression and complete exhaustion would hit, and it wouldn't

dissipate til about 6 or 7 p.m. For all I know it has nothing to do with

Gleevec, but it sure seems drug-related given the " reliable " daily nature. I was

really hoping they would put me on Tasigna, but they wanted to try this first.
