Guest guest
Last year, I posted an article on Zebra fish used in studying cancer, since they are transparent, they could track cancer from its inception and how it metacizes. They are now moving in the direction of rebuilding healthy blood for those whose transplants are unsuccessful. The fish may also answer questions about stem cell transplants. While transplants of blood-forming stem cells help cancer patients rebuild healthy blood, some transplants don't " take, " for reasons that are unknown. Scientists have lacked a full understanding what steps blood stem cells must take to do their job, says White. ______________________________ The mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah is to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.
