Guest guest
Thanks for the information. I have a couple more questions. Have you had any problems with infections at the cut site? Also when you go in to have them replaced do they place the new pellets in the same cut site or is a new cut made? Also how much of a scar is there after the cut heals? Thanks you for the info. I am on androgel right now after androderm did nothing for me. The implants may be something I will consider if the gel does not work for me. > > I was wondering is anyone in this group uses the underskin > > implant/pellet for t replacment. Guest guest
I had five 200 mg pellets inserted today. I've been on compounded T creme after switching from Androgel which was too messy. T creme was okay but I had energy sags and needed to reapply it frequently. I am wondering if the pellets take a while to start working. The doctor said maybe a couple of weeks. So I'm wondering if about continuing the T creme in the meantime. What was your experience in this regard? > > I was wondering is anyone in this group uses the underskin > > implant/pellet for t replacment. Going through the surgery and everything seems like such a big deal, but actually it is nothing compared to the excitement of hearing again!! The next step will be a long road of rehabilitation for him. How long it takes for him to start to benefit depends a lot on biological factors and how much time and effort he puts into learning with the CI. There is a lot of programming the CI's to get them just right. Quite a bit of experimenting with types of programs and IDR's ( sound windows) and pitches and tones. I am a CI user myself and don't have a child with one....but do know that this is a family process....everyone needs to be involved to help your son get his maximum potential with his CI. He would be starting out from scratch. You don't just get a CI and go into the world and start hearing. I was deaf for over 30 years and even though I did have normal hearing up until age 17, when I got my CI my brain had to relearn how to hear again. It took me three weeks to be able to talk on the phone again. I did a lot of listening to audio books while reading along to jumpstart the process. You will be giving your son the gift and miracle of hearing. It will take a big committment on your part getting him the rehabilation he needs. Speech therapist and other professionals will be working with him. You should talk to other parents who have children with CI's and get an idea of how this will work. I know of one website called CI Circle that is for parents of children with CI's. Good luck! Guest guest
Sandy, Dr. Kolb has a protocol for detoxing from silicone on her website . . . www.plastikos.com The good news is that, after explant, detoxing and carefully guarding their health, women usually get much better. Guest guest
Neenie, Some insurance companies do approve explant in advance. The approval letter may be acceptable . . . Dr. Kolb probably had some bad experiences with BCBS. Sometimes you have to collect from the insurance company after the surgery. Where do you go from here? . . . The options aren't good. . . You're unlikely to find insurance that will cover explant without a lengthy waiting period - that's with group insurance. Getting private insurance is going to be virtually impossible. It comes down to how you can raise the money . . . credit card, loan, savings . . . None of the options are happy ones. However, if you're like me, you'll find that getting your implants removed is the best investment you've ever made in yourself! . . . You really have no other options if you're symptomatic. It's a shame because health insurance pays for all kinds of claims due to our own actions . . . eating, drinking, smoking, carelessness, drugs, etc. . . .They don't like paying for removing breast implants though. Guest guest
I too have BCBS as my secondary coverage.....they just told me they wouldn't cover if I got implants for cosmetic reasons only but if you got for a medical reason and can prove it I think they will. Guest guest
That's how my insurance is, too - they wouldn't cover explant unless I got them because I had cancer. Wouldn't it be nice if data were collected from insurance companies, to compare implanted women's illnesses with that of the general population? I'll bet if the insurance companies were given the decision of whether to approve or disapprove implants instead of the FDA, the insurance companies would disapprove them. Guest guest
Leyna, The skin rash has gone away for a lot of women as soon as they get their implants out . . . IMHO, it's the toxins from the implants trying to get out! My hubby had a zillon skin tags too . . . no implants. . . removing them was a simple matter . . . except for the largest ones, the doctor just clipped them off! . .. The larger ones they burned off. Guest guest
Lynn, Fungal Defense can make you feel yucky. If it feels too bad, instead of increasing the number of capsules to two today, hold it at one . . . If you feel a little better tomorrow, try two the next day . . . then hold at two another day . . . Hopefully increasing by one capsule every other day, you can keep the discomfort level manageable. Be sure to drink a full glass of water every time you take Fungal Defense. Think of it as sending in an army to attack the fungal organisms in your body. The fungal organisms are going to put up a fight . . . When they die, they leave a toxic mess behind. Your liver has to clean this toxic stuff out of your blood stream and get rid of it. Sometimes the liver gets overloaded and needs time to catch up. Just go slow and easy. You'll get there! Eating a healthy diet is very important . . . Don't give those nasty fungal organisms any sugar or refined grain. Avoiding chemicals in processed foods will help the liver do its job. . . . It's not the easiest thing to do when it would be more comfortable (right now) to stop detoxing . . . But in the long run, you'll feel much better when the garbage is gone. If there was tape on the area where the hives are, it's likely the tape caused them. Many people are sensitive to materials in the tape. . . My sister-in-law had huge blisters when her tape came off after back surgery. Hugs, Rogene Implants I am picking up my implants on Monday. I just called the surgical center in Denver and they said they have them in alcohol. Is this correct? I couldn't remember. Also, I began the Fungal Defense yesterday and I am feeling sort of yucky today. I also have three bright red hives on my back that itch horribly. Perhaps it was from the tape? I am trying to use extra strength Tylenol all day if possible. Possibly go back to work tomorrow. Hope I feel better than today Lynn
Guest guest
Thanks Rogene, I will give a small dose a try. I will ask my husband to look at the spots on my back when he gets home, right now I am too sore to turn that far and look in the mirror. I should be able to tell if tape was over that area or not. Thanks, Lynn > > Lynn, > > Fungal Defense can make you feel yucky. > > If it feels too bad, instead of increasing the number of capsules to two today, hold it at one . . . Guest guest
Lynn, For short-term use, Tylenol for pain is fine, as long as you don't have any liver problems. Tylenol is one of the harder drugs on the liver. Tylenol is only for pain relief though, it has no anti-inflammatory properties. If you want a pain reliever with anti-inflammatory properties, Naproxen would be good, as would Ibuprophen.
