Guest guest
According to K. Reilly, who is senior nutritionist at The Cancer Project in Washington D. C. Ms. Reilly works with cancer patients and advised that good nutrition can play a key role in preventing pancreatic cancer. Researchers at the University of CA at SF found that cholesterol, animal fat and saturated fat may increase risk of pancreatic cancer. They found that high intakes of beef, processed meats, lamb, eggs and dairy products are correlated with pancreatic cancer risk. Other studies show that a plant based diet rich in fruits, vegetables and other low-fat vegetarisn foods could help prevent pacreatic cancer. One study found that consuming foods rich in flavonoids - pples, broccoli, onions, kale and berries may decrease pancreatic cancer risk by up to 59 percent. This is an article in my local newspaper, but could not find it by searching the author. I know the vegans out there will love me for posting this and those who still like meat in their diets will come after me with meat cleavers. I eat meat, what can I say. I just thought it was an interesting letter to the editor, and I know people who don't eat meat because it makes them sick. They have a valid point, but so do the meat eaters if they like meat and eat it in moderation. I have son who calls himself a meataholic. He is a picky eater, but he eats any and all kinds of meat. I can just see people drawing sides right now. LOL Blessings, Lottie
