Guest guest
I noticed this past weekend that my toes have darkened some, they are noticably a different color than my feet. Also around my lower leg/ ankles my skin is pinker with white dots. I had a doctor look at the legs once (my old rheumy) and he said " not from RA " and no more, but now I notice that it appears when I have a flare up or right before. My concern though is with my toes, has anyone had this before? When I mentioned it to my friend she told me that she had noticed it a week ago but hadn't wanted to say anything. She has a cousin who is also in her mid twenties with RA and she said she has the same thing. Is this something that will change? I love wearing sandles (especially for comfort when my feet swell) but now I really notice the discoloration... Im officially off the Plaquenil for a week now, on prednisone 10mg a day, doing all right so far, making the decision for the next step of meds, looks like no methotrexate (possibly sterility problems, wont chance that) Im also going on the waiting list for embral (sp?) Guest guest
I don't know what to tell you about the discoloration of your toes except that it could be from bad circulation. The pink coloring with white dots sounds like edema- swelling from excessive accumulation of serous fluid in tissue - which can cause the bad circulation to your toes. Please have your dr. check it out! I had extreme edema while I was taking celebrex, so it could just be a change in med that would help.
