Guest guest
Wow! Fast recovery! Do you know what brand of knee you got? How long were you off your feet? Did you have a lot of pain? I also live in WA. If you had your surgery in Seattle, Tacoma, or the Olympia area, I'd like to know who did it. Thanks. Ann Olympia WA Relay for Life Thanks to my new knee, which I received on March 5 of this year, I am going to be able to participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life walk this weekend. Guest guest
Ann, I don't know which brand of knee I got, sorry. I was bone on bone prior to the surgery and walked with a cane. I was in terrific pain. I had the surgery on March 5 in Bellingham, my OS was Dr. Bruce and I love him, he's treated me for a couple of other issues in the past and I have always been impressed with him. I was in the hospital five days. Would have gone home in four but I was having trouble with being light headed so they kept me an extra day. I have a job that requires me to do lots of lifting and being on my feet 8+ hours a day, no sitting in between, so I did not return to work for three months. (I'm a postal worker, and I am 42 years old.) When I did go back, I went back nearly full throttle. By the end of the first week, I was hurting but not as badly as I did prior to surgery. At the end of the second week back, I was hurting but not as badly as I did after the first week. I do a little better every week, but I am able to put in 40+ hours on my feet now, and although I won't be the fastest walker on our Relay for Life team, I am proud that I can do some of the walking. >>Wow!
